This is the type of commit that makes me amazed by Fran’s recruiting ability. No real connection to this player, who was a very quality starter at a decently high level, and you pull a commit out of nowhere.

Corner could now be the best position group on the roster next year with Ward, Samuel, Peal. One of the best pickups we have gotten in the portal thus far, he’s gonna be an impact guy next year
And on top of Samuels, Peal and Ward as Cornerbacks, we also have Kerr and you have to think its likely that Geter will see the field as well. So a group of 5. That is probably what you want. Good group. Only loss with any significant on field experience was Delaine.

I may be in the minority but I thought Cornell Perry did a great job being thrust into major snaps at safety. I think he'll do a great job especially with what seems to be a very strong CB room now.

Deepest CB room ever?
Right now in the somewhat recent history I think the tandem of Garrett Wililams and Melifonwu in 2020 were better as a pair. but that is after the fact knowing how they had performed. We will see how this group actually does on the field this year. Not sure who the 3rd CB was that year. By looking at stats I think the back-up CB was Aman Greenwood. But the other DB's we also played mostly were Ja'had Carter, Trill, Cisco (Got injured early), Rob Hannah.

Its amazing our record was so bad with that group. Most of the blame goes to the offense though I guess.
