CBS sports bowl projections

If we are 9-3 we aren’t going to the pinstripe.

Current Standings with remaining ACC games:

Clemson 5-0 (L'ville, @BC, Duke)
BC 3-1 (@VT, Clemson, @FSU, SU)
SU 3-2 (@Wake, L'ville, @BC)
NC St. 2-2 (FSU, Wake, @L'ville, @UNC)
FSU 2-4 (@NC St, BC)
Wake 1-3 (SU, @NC St., Pitt, @Duke)
L'ville (Clemson, @SU, NC St.)

UVA 4-1 (Pitt, @GT, @VT)
VT 3-1 (BC, @Pitt, Miami, UVA)
Pitt 3-1 (@UVA, VT, @Wake, @Miami)
Miami 2-2 (Duke, @GT, @VT, Pitt)
GT 2-3 (@UNC, Miami, UVA)
Duke 1-3 (@Miami, UNC, Clemson, Wake)
UNC 1-4 (GT, @Duke, NC St.)

SU could very well go 9-3, 6-2 only losing to Notre Dame the rest of the way. After Clemson all other ranked ACC teams are in the 20's, so I don't see another ACC team in the group of six unless the coastal champ upsets Clemson in the title game. Look at the other teams remaining schedules and see how many could get to at least 5-3. I count NC St., UVA, VT as likely. With SU beating BC in this scenario the Eagles would have a tough road to 5-3, but possible. Miami is also a possible 5-3. I understand in this scenario I am having Pitt lose to VT, UVA, and Miami.

Clemson: Playoff
Camping World: NC St. (VT went last year)
Tier 1 bowls: Group includes SU, UVA, VT, Miami. All bowls have equal selection, there's no pecking order within these four. They make deals with each other and ACC to get best game for them.

Belk: UVA (Wake went last year)
Sun: VT (NC St. went last year
Pinstripe: Syracuse (BC went last year)
Taxslayer: Miami (L'ville went last year)

If these are the teams SU is competing with for those bowls, I don't see any of those other 3 taking SU over the southern teams, and Pinstripe will want SU. Bottom line, for SU to have a better chance of not getting Pinstripe root for Pitt.

BC was there last year. If they can they try to avoid teams in consecutive years.
Pinstripe won’t take BC again, agreed. Pitt won’t be in the running. Only other candidate beside us would be Va Tech in my opinion.
