Re: Thorpe: yes, a year of experience in the zone is most ideal, but we've had other first-year guards come in and play it well in the past--Ennis, Triche, McNamara, Edelin, Hart. Plus some sophomores who didn't play much as frosh (MCW, Scoop) and RS freshman (Cooney). Thorpe has the advantage of having good length and being very athletic and strong.
