As a group of 22 teams, New York really is not good... and when you take out Western / Central New York (3 of the top 5) it is really bad.

New York state top 5 according to CBS in November:

1. St. Bonaventure
2. St. John's
3. Syracuse
4. Iona
5. Buffalo

If Syracuse has difficulty beating Buffalo, it will be harder to beat St. Bonaventure.

Too bad former NCAA Champion and powerhouse CCNY was relegated to Division 3 after a point shaving scandal. A road game in Harlem would have been pretty cool.

How do you forget Alaska?

No D-1 bball teams. Alaska-Anchorage and Alaska-Fairbanks play in D-2.
