CDRW vs ND

i would like to be happily surprised because i don’t see it. i think we need to hit portal hard .
Yep, get a proven starter, likely G5 route since we probably can’t compete with the big money teams for QB NIL money. Very friendly schedule next year, don’t blow it

Should be an easy sell with bookend entire OL returning, LeQuint, and assume Moose and OG come back to play with Dono, Jones, Gill, etc

I wouldn’t have any trepidation about that if I was talking with him, as it’s in the spirit of endearment, not disrespect. I doubt he would misunderstand the way I’m saying it, as he would hear the inflection of my voice and get the context.

Also, in the interest of consistency, how about all the times you’ve criticized a player or coach on this board? Would you have said those things to their faces? And what I said wasn’t even a criticism.

Again, it’s not that deep.
Yeah right, forktongue? is that ok?

Leonard couldn’t make it through the game against them and likely cost himself a lot of $ and draft position.

Our fanbase is intent on crapping on our backup for whatever reason though.

What’s that now 32 in a row for ND vs the ACC?

I think Anae needed to give his balls a tug for that stretch of games and I think Wilson was negatively impacted. He called a scared game. Shrader isnt effective either when you make him one dimensional. Wilson has a lot of talent. He's a bit raw, but he has the necessary physical attributes.
Better question, did you see him play against western Michigan? He looked pretty pedestrian in his limited attempts in that game as well

If the staff was thought he was 100% the guy, would they have brought Shrader back in vs Army? Maybe, maybe not.

All he did was handoff 3 times.

Maybe they don’t trust the terrible OLine they put out there

CDRW is very talented but I worry about his pocket presence. I almost think he is the type of guy who just needs to be let loose. He's going to have a bunch of "oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, what is he doing, how did he do that moments?" He can't be just sitting in the pocket like he was in that Pitt game plan. You have to let him shine.

I also think Braden Davis is going to challenge more than we might expect too. He's got a great arm and I think with a year of working with Beck, he has much more upside in terms of pure QB throwing ability.

I get that sequence. What I don't get is bringing Shrader and Allen back in.

We had the ball at the Army 45 with 2:30 left up by 13 points. At that point it should be 3 runs by SU. We can put a fan in if we wanted to. After 3rd down there was 0:57 left. There was no danger at all.

Not crapping on him, at least I’m not, but from my vantage point, I don’t feel comfortable handing him the keys next year. Look at the schedule and the makeup of this roster, next year is a golden opportunity for a big season, can’t roll the dice at QB. If it was a rebuild year, then maybe you throw a new guy in there but not the case

The reason is the 40% completion % against ACC teams last year.

And I can say some always love the backup QB more.

He’s not new it will be his third year.

His one start was our toughest road game of the year when the team was flat. It’s crazy to write him off after that.

We’ll see how this season goes. I’m not calling for a change. Just pointing out how bad ACC qbs have been against that team and our backup is the one exception.

New as in new starter, and I just am not comfortable with handing him the job.
