Central Michigan Group Tickets and Tailgate

They have some motels...also a casino like 10 miles north. You might consider staying east of town though...like Port Huron, MI. Depending on the kickoff time...you might stay there Friday and Saturday and drive to the game from the motel. Just a thought.

was thinking about leaving early sat morn and making the drive from cuse, then leaving sunday. Is there a hotel closet to the campus/stadium?

what's the came of casino/hotel that sounds interesting to stay at?

FYI: Baylor is playing at Buffalo on Friday night on Sept 12th...just saying in case some one wants to take into two games over the weekend. Obviously, the Cuse kickoff time will dictate if it is realistic to see both games. I was planning on spending Friday night in Port Huron or a Flint, MI suburb so diverting to a Baylor/Buffalo game Friday night only makes sense logistically is if the Cuse kickoff is mid afternoon or later.

Update: I talked with Matt Sarz...and he is 95% certain the Baylor @ UB game will kickoff at 8PM...the other times could be 6 or 7PM. He expects Cuse's kickoff time to be announced around mid-June. At that time I'll see if logistically attending both games is possible. I should be able to acquire some Buffalo tickets through Baylor. My friend from TX a Baylor grad is coming up. His brother is Pat Green the singer.

Shut the front door! Pat mother trucking Green? I love Pat Green! I knew his brother was in the Air Force, that's so cool. I've been to 6 of his concerts, although none in awhile as that's what happens while settling down and having multiple children. Lots of country singers out of Texas that for the life of me, I cannot figure out why Nashville overlooks them. Charlie Robison, Jack Ingram, Cory morrow, Radney Foster, Jerry Jeff Walker, now there are some great singers who have more talent than the watered down, sugary pop- like acts so prevalent on the airwaves. Their music and affinity for it makes me wonder sometimes if I should have been born in Texas.

C Bomb send me a PM...if you can make the Buffalo/CMU games. I talk to my bud and see if he can bring up a Pat Green CD signed for you.

I live in Metro Detroit. I will have 6-8 with me. I will help as much as I can with the tailgate, mini-van and SUV. Let me know what you need from me.

Thanks Mark, you are so gracious. Unfortunately, going to Kalamazoo is a little too far for my Carolina Coast family. We are definitely going to Wake Forest, though. Clemson fits my schedule, but not necessarily those of my 4 children. Its hard to justify 2 weeks in a row and over 12 hours of travel just to the closest games that my family would endure.

I've been fortunate to meet Pat twice, once in Myrtle Beach House of Blues, and actually Deansboro (south of Clinton on 12B) of all places, 10 years ago this year. (at an old dairy farm that had been owned by one of my grandmother's cousins.) Active duty at Bragg at the time, I flew back with my then girlfriend (the future Mrs. C Bomb) to attend the concert. I could not let Pat play a "holler" over from my ole stomping grounds and not go. When I told him that we came up from Bragg he mentioned that his brother was in the Air Force. It was so cool to see a Pat Green concert and then drive home on all the back roads to get home in less than 15 minutes.

Mrs. C Bomb and I danced to "Crazy" at our wedding a year later, a song that was so perfect for the moment that I couldn't ever fathom have using a different song. (Of course, I picked that song as my wedding song a full year before I even met my wife...)

That is cool...see you at the Wake Forest game.

Just an update. It appears group rate tickets will be $10.00. I have right now 37 signed up if everyone goes. Please refine your numbers NLT June 2nd. I plan to buy on June 3rd (first day I can purchase). I'm going to charge $15 per ticket which will include mailing. The profits will buy us 5 extra tickets and also fund our tailgate kitty. SU is charging $22.00 plus shipping for CMU tickets. I expect we'll be in a better section. I will request seats behind the SU bench. I'll see if I can talk them into holding another 10 seats for any late adds.

Just a heads up...Baylor is playing SUNY Buffalo in Buffalo on Friday night. Depending on our kick time I might be attending that game. Anyone interested send me a PM. My friend will be buying tickets in the Baylor section.

Update:

Okay I got the scoop. Kelly Shorts stadium. SU (Visitors) is actually the Press Box side. They just switched visitors sections and my ticket rep (Dave) wasn't sure if SU was going to be in Sections A-B or K. He will put us most likely in one section closer to the midfield than where SU fans are sitting...so Sections C or J. Our seats should be around the 10-20 yard line. Each Section has about 55 Rows, 34 seats across. The higher the seat numbers the closer to Black seats end zone. So Section C, Row 25, Seat 34 would be midsection on aisle next to Section D. Tickets are $10 each. Children under 3 are free. Parking is $10 for general admission. I think we can upgrade our parking to reserved for a little more. I will investigate that. I plan to buy the tickets on Monday. I will buy a few extra tickets. Since the tickets are so cheap I recommend you buy your "maybes". I always get the extras sold by game day so your risk is minimal.

Attendees So Far:
Please scrub your list and get me a firm number. I have approx 35 tix right now...so I would buy about 40 tickets.

Good News, Bad News.

Bad news, after many phone calls it appears we got a different story today. It worked out in the end but we are all going to spend more for each ticket.

The $10 tickets that were promised on the sideline changed today. The ticket reps are hardworking but inexperienced and it also sounds like CMU just figured out their final ticket section policies. The official SU section is going to be in Section K. If you bought through SU Box Office that is most likely where you will sit.

For $10, they could have put us in General Admission and on game day the best we could hope for was going to Section L in the endzone. The tickets would be marked General Admission and you would be able to sit anywhere from Sections L-T. With us tailgating I could see issues on gameday if we arrived 10 mins prior to kickoff and all try to enter and sit together in Section L.

I made the executive decision to upgrade us to Section J. We are going to be sitting in Rows 20 to 24. Seats 1 to 8. We will be closest to Section H. These were the best seats we could get. Our seats will be guaranteed.
You can click on this link and scroll over our section. Rows 20-24 will yield an excellent view from about the 15-20 yard line.

The bad news is there is no group discount so the seats are $22. But I was able to save some money buying 8 tickets for Seniors (55+) and/or kids (4-12) for $15. Kids 3 and under are free if they sit on your lap.

I bought 32 $22 adult tix and 8 kids or seniors $15 tix.
I also bought 11 parking passes for $10 each.

Right now I have 3 extra tickets and maybe 1 or 2 parking passes. If anyone wants to add to your group do it now.

Also, be advised we will enter around the 35th row from the concourse. Out seats will be down about 10-15 rows but right on the aisle.

BTW, our parking will be south of the stadium in lot 63W. Regardless, a great location. You would pay big bucks to park that close at the Carrier Dome. We are literally about a 9 iron from the stadium.

Im still in. ( 4 confirmed )

Would like a parking pass if one is available as well Mark.

Thanks for all you do.

I bought 14 parking passes...we should have enough for everyone. After we take care of ourselves I'll sell any extra tix/parking passes to others. If anyone's groups contract or expand let me know ASAP. I'll be sending out private emails to everyone to get a final tally and to request payment.

Coming in from Chicago and looking for several tickets. Looks like they are now in the $70 - 102 range. Where can I buy the $22 tickets from?

I have two available for $22 + $5 for the tailgate per person...send me a PM if you can use 2.

If you need more than 2...I suggest you call the SU Box Office at Manley Field House. They should be able to sell you some tickets for $22. It is ridiculous someone is trying to ask $70-102 each.

OrangeJet let me know if 2 tix/1 parking pass will work?

To all the others, I'm mailing out the tickets/parking passes within 48 hours. Check your email for more info.

Right now it looks like I have 2 Tix/1 parking pass left. The total package would be $64...quite the deal. It includes a tailgate!

TexasMark - I am good after securing a few tickets in a suite at Kelly/Shorts Stadium from the local beer distributor and will be proudly wearing orange that day.
Thanks anyway!!

Send me a PM with your email/cell phone# and I'll keep you in the loop for our pregame tailgate. If I have an extra parking pass leftover I can mail it to you.

Ok update

Tickets being mailed tomorrow.

I have 4 seats and 1 parking pass left. I can sell them as 1, 2, 3,or 4 tix. First buyer of two or more tickets gets the opportunity to buy the coveted parking pass.

Update: We have up to 5 tickets available. Sorry only 1 parking pass as of now...that might increase to 2. Bottomline, we are in a cash lot (63W) so if you arrive early enough you can park with us anyways for $10.
