Cervelli shut down

Cervelli's injury was aggravated enough to be shut down by the Yankees making a deadline trade for a catcher crucial to the Yankees. Romine is blowing his big opportunity. While OK as a defensive backstop his hitting has been pathetic.Stewart has been a pleasant surprise but he can't do it alone at that position. Unfortuneately the Yankess don't have farm kid in the higher minors ready to take advantage of this need yet. The numbers of potential big leaguers are there but not yet ready for prime time opportunity.SanchezObrien and Murphy are at least a couple years away from the pinstipes.

Cervelli hasn't played since he broke his hand ... in April.

The Yanks were hoping to get him back in July after the ASG. Now he won't be back until August.

If they haven't traded for a catcher in the past 2 months, what makes you think they'll pull the trigger in the next week?
