CFB Playoff Rankings for Nov 5

That's why OU losing was a big deal for Clemson.

Didn’t matter, Clemson would be in if they go 13-0 even if OU had done the same. PAC 12 is the conference that got the big break with OU losing. Any 13-0 P5 is getting in, at most there can still be 4, would have been that way if OU were undefeated now. Leaving the Pac12 out in the cold

I think if Oklahoma and Clemson were 13-0 the playoff would have been
1. Ohio State/Penn State
2. Alabama/LSU/Georgia
3. Clemson
4. Oklahoma

The Oklahoma loss opened the door for the Pac-12 champion at 12-1 and if they aren't 12-1 then a second SEC/Big Ten team.

Unless the true chaos of Baylor running the table. Which means beating Oklahoma twice.

Just can't see that happening.

Not to mention that there are still a few losses upcoming that no one predicts. Happens every year.

Committee chairman hammered the nonconference schedules of Baylor and Minnesota.
I do think if Minnesota runs the table with Penn State, Iowa, Wisconsin and Ohio State in the title game they would get in.
I don't think Baylor is a lock at 13-0. Committee hated their nonconference schedule and Texas didn't get ranked by the committee. Only Oklahoma and Kansas State did. Thus, the Big XII isn't exactly that popular either.

Baylor 13-0 vs. Oregon 12-1 would be very interesting. I think Oregon would get the nod. I don't think any 1 loss team gets in above Clemson unless its Georgia and they would just get to wear their home jersey as I think both would be in.

Undefeated Clemson is in, even if they have to use the annexation of Puerto Rico to beat the Coastal on the last play of the CCG.

The Oregon Ducks are huge Auburn fans down the stretch. If they can beat either Georgia or Bama at Jordan Hare, it makes the Duck resume look better. But that won't be an easy game against Utah. They are really good.

I read one article where they thought the one sign of respect for the Big 12 was putting Okie State in the Top 25. There's just no way Lincoln Riley will lose twice to Baylor though. I wouldn't be surprised to see Baylor's run end @TCU this weekend. They're playing with fire, 3 point win vs. WVU, 3 point win vs. TT, 2 point win vs. ISU.

Debatable on Clemson.

If OSU, Bama and OU all went 13-0 then they'd all be in ahead of Clemson. If LSU lost on a last second FG at Tuscaloosa then one could credibly make the case that their resume is more impressive than Clemson's resume. Because of Clemson's recent history they'd probably get the nod but if it were anybody else with that resume they'd be out in the cold.

you could, but without an SEC title I am quite sure LSU would be left out and Clemson would be in. Clemson tried to schedule decent OOC games against A&M and SC so that helps them, they can't help how much the ACC sucks

No doubt the ACC really sucks and it's not Clemson's fault. In fact I'd say the AAC is better than the ACC this year. The ACC is historically bad this season.

When UCF went 12-0 people dismissed them and ridiculed their schedule. Strength of schedule has to count for something. Also the one point victory over a team that probably won't go .500 is not a good look either.

I agree with your prediction that Clemson would probably get in under that scenario. Just not sure that would be fair and it would absolutely be debatable.

I do. The Iowa-Penn State game was tight and I think Minnesota is slightly better than Iowa.
So I got the Gophers over the Lions.
Brilliance!
