CFP Rankings for Nov 24

Cincinnati is 7 so this is incorrect.
BYU has a really good team.
They just got screwed with being an independent in a season of dominantly conference game only schedules.

They need to get Washington and Cincinnati on their schedule but they aren’t doing what they claimed they would do in that tweet.

They could cancel their December 12th game with San Diego State and schedule Cincinnati.

They could have played Washington this week.

They aren’t doing either.
Thus they aren’t going to get respect from the committee.

They would beat Syracuse by a lot if we played them.
Zach Wilson is the real deal and BYU always has good defensive lines and defenses.
I think general college fans know how well BYU is doing. They are a great team but they still need to add some quality wins. I think most of us would like to see teams like BYU and Cincy shake up and the playoffs but they dont have the resume that warrants a spot. The only team I thought had a shot was 2018 UCF before McKenzie got hurt. That team was legit

Committee just told BYU good night.

BYU dodged Washington. So they don’t deserve respect.

Complete nonsense.

Look at BYU's schedule before covid. They had a big boy schedule and went out of their way to play solid competition. What would beating Washington do for them in the national picture? They'd be favored by 2 TDs minimum. The mighty Huskies managed to beat that powerhouse Oregon State squad by a TD in Seattle. BYU's best bet is to line up a game or two against better comp than Washington who they would have annihilated.

I mean, that's all?

It’s not at all.
I get your a BYU fan so it’s disappointing but Cincinnati got respect.
7 is the highest spot a non P5 or ND team has ever been ranked.
The committee respects Cincinnati.
They have won at SMU, at UCF, beat Army.
Plus have another top 25 opponent in Tulsa.

BYU has beaten nobody good except Boise State who was without their starting QB and their backup got hurt.
That win was impressive but it wasn’t that good given the circumstances.

The rest of their schedule isn’t that good.

They should have taken the Washington game. They got beat down by Washington at home last year. Ducking the game for any reason killed their mantra.

Man it is so boring and stagnant that the same 6 teams are in the playoff every year and a team like 2017 ucf is never let in to the party. Those fanbases are so rabid and theres so much money in the sport that they’ve erased what makes college football so much fun. Much like march madness let the best team decide it on the field.

BYU can't just unilaterally cancel a game with San Diego State on December 12th. But wouldn't matter anyway as Cinci plays Tulsa on Dec. 12th in a game that will prolly decide who wins the AAC.

I'm actually a) not a BYU fan, and b) I don't believe BYU should be in so c) I'm not disappointed.

There's no circumstance in a season where teams are almost exclusively playing in conference schedules that we're going to see a non P5 team in the playoff (heck, let's call it P4, the PAC-12 isn't getting anyone in, and also, for all intents and purposes Notre Dame counts as ACC this season).

I watched the entire BYU/Boise game. Mahomes could have been playing QB for Boise and BYU still would have won. BYU manhandled them from beginning to end on the blue turf. Men versus boys.

Can we just beat ND? At least give us something positive to talk about during the off-season, and I just really don't like them.

I’ll believe Cincinnati has a chance to make the playoff when I see it happen.

I think letting a G5 team in is a door the CFP doesn’t want to open

I agree. They would need a crazy sequence of events. Cinci is a very solid team but imo they're not within a TD of any of the current top 4. That said they're just as good as the next 4-5 down the list. How the hell is Miami ranked there? They suck.

I don’t think Cincinnati will make the playoff but they have a chance.

If Notre Dame loses to North Carolina or Notre Dame beats Clemson.
Then the ACC won’t get 2 teams.

Then Cincy needs both Florida and A&M each get another loss.

If that happens they are getting in over the Big XII or PAC-12 champion.

If Oklahoma only had 1 loss they would be dangerous as they are on fire but the 2nd loss just hurts them.

This scenario isn’t probable but it’s definitely possible.
