He's a 5 min a game guy and prob NIL free. Give him another year and see if he can improve. Then I guess hope we can retain him.

Teams that have nothing to lose. He's from Pennsylvania, so just say [for example, not suggesting that there would be mutual interest] if you are LaSalle or Bucknell, and you have a chance to get a guy who at one time was a top 25-ish recruit, why not roll the dice?

We have plenty of scholarships and Petar has already demonstrated some ability to perform. Why wouldn't we want him back?

I guess. I see where you’re coming from. 15 scholarships makes it easier to deal with if the gamble doesn’t pay off. Personally, I think a school has better odds gambling on a kid that may be a diamond in the rough / under the radar type.

It was never disclosed why Chance didn’t play the rest of the year other than some type of personal matter. I imagine whatever that was will factor into his future.

Dropping down a level makes all the sense in the world for Westry. First of all, he has to prove that he can stay healthy. Second, he has to prove that he can produce at the collegiate level [assuming he still wants to play hoops].

If he does, then maybe he'll have an opportunity to transfer back up later in his eligibility. But right now, he's damaged goods who hasn't played one important minute in three years of time at P4 schools.

Lots of scholarships available so hopefully our Chancellor- AD - GM can structure a real nice roster for next year it will cost some big $$$ but it has to be done. We all saw what it did for our FB. Team.

Agreed. He's been hurt / unwell all three years he's been at the collegiate level.

AND he had some off-court stuff that factored into the coaches not utilizing him, in addition to his "illness." Baggage galore, for any team hoping to land a diamond in the rough from this reclamation project.

What I will remember most about Chance was his infectious smile, positive atttiude and amazing spirit. I am of course referring to Chance the dog from the movie Homeward Bound.

I don't know a single thing about Chance Westry.
