He does have a very serious health issue that kept him out. As far as the pickup stuff I heard him and Lobdell would bet games with students and when they lost would never pay.

Am I in the minority of those who thinks Petar should find another school? He isn’t a power 5 player and I’m worried he’ll get time regardless of our roster. Just because Red is gonna Red…

No, I was actually thinking something similar at the end of the season. However, after looking at his stats, he's right about where Marek was as a freshman so maybe he can continue to improve. At least he brings a lot of energy and scrappiness when he gets on the court.

So, again, similar to Choppa, some of you seem really eager to ensure that you only get the worst year of college basketball performance that a player has to contribute.

They never improve. They never offer any team benefit other than stats on the court. There's no risk to possibly not filling a scholarship, or replacing them with a player that's not as good. Somehow everyone on everyone's roster needs to be starter level, there are no role players anymore.

I don't even know what some of you are trying to accomplish. You don't think anyone's good enough unless they immediately are somewhat finished products and we have enough guys like that that we're winning.

I get that program building looks different in this era. But program building is still a thing.

Oh hell na. Marek was 10x the player. He was just forced to play in the middle of the zone, which was unfair to him. I still remember the TCU tourney game where he carried us. I know Petar tries to be scrappy etc, but he’s really just not good. I keep saying the same thing, but I’ve never seen a player not be able to find a body to box out, more than him. He’s always standing there, lost, when the other team is rebounding and laying it back in. If he can’t board or play defense, he’s useless to us. Don’t think he does other even moderately well.

Might be the best place for him. No pressure and much weaker competition since he hasn’t played in a while. I only recall him playing in one game this year, where did 3 games come from? Did I miss something?

Also, I hope he graduated this year because he has no future in professional basketball. It would be smart to stay at SU to complete his degree instead of getting a degree at Siena.

I'm so disappointed with how this worked out. I have always loved high flyers and I was hoping he was going to bring that back to us.

I think a guy like Petar is essential. He plays very hard and has a good IQ out there. He’s a 4yr guy that could develop into a nice player.
He still has a lot to work on but I love his potential as the hard hat and lunch pail guy.

Right now he is Marek light. His ceiling is Marek middleweight.
