why keep him for 2 years (on the bench) and then let him bounce and BEAST out for someone else?

I was one of Chance’s biggest supporters on here and kept pointing out the promise that he held and that he was key to the past couple of seasons—and so many people dismissed that he would ever play again because of his injuries. I’m still not entirely clear on why Red wouldn’t play him last year, though people have suggested a few reasons. But it wasn’t an injury, at least last year. I wish we’d have seen this version of Chance here.

When Chance played very limited minutes in a few games last year, he looked like a clumsy walk on thrown in at the end of a blowout. He simply wasn’t ready last year, whether it was mentally and/or physically.

Lower expectations at his current school and lesser competition is perhaps helping him perform well. If he has an extra year left and is ready to move back up to a power conference program, hopefully, he’ll remember who was kind and patient with him.

I understand how things are confidential, but people continue to "dive" into it because the reasons why he wasn't playing were all quite nebulous.

Seriously, the only reason i ever saw was physical. There was a clip or two of him in practice, where he was only gingerly cutting/stopping after 'sprinting.' And when he actually got into a game (for those few seconds), he had no ability to move decisively. I—and a lot of us, i believe—trusted that he didn't play because he wasn't able to perform at the necessary level, and that maybe his post-game/practice recovery wasn't what doctors wanted to see.

Anything about him personally or behind the scenes must have been Paysided, cuz i'm here 150 times a day and missed it.

He looks good! He was a talent prior to the injury. We gave him a chance here...he got it hurt...I don't why he didn't play last year. I am happy he is finally playing well..

He finished with 15. 1-7 on 3s and 6-12 on FT. So he still has the Cuse in him

He was horrible in the second half!
15 is right about his average (14.9)
He underperformed his not great 25% 3 point average. Usually a 70% free throw shooter.

Happy for him, and glad he got an opportunity for a big role.

I also don't know the whole story, but...

It's unfortunate for us if Westry's injury wasn't sufficiently healed during our time with him, and that it just happens that it's good now, for someone else. Unfortunate, also, if this could have been foreseen by our medical people, and we could have kept him after such an 'investment.' But, maybe there were other factors involved in him not wanting to stay? I didn't see enough in his performance in those few opportunities with us to fault Red for not playing him more. He just didn't look like he could do what he used to be known for doing.

Kinda reminds me of the 'tragic' scenario with Chris Sale and the Red Sox. Boston had hm for a couple of injury-plagued seasons, then dumped him, ostensibly with the sense that he just wasn't going to be consistently healthy, and once gone, he goes out and wins the Cy Young...

Well, whatever. I'm glad he's doing well, and i hope he can remain healthy and fulfill his promise.

You never know. Walton was injured like forever before emerging as a star.
