I agree... Even if Chan decides to jump, he always seemed to be a Cuse guy. Doubt he would characterize his school that way... I could be way off though...

First off, there's no evidence that his announcement has anything to do with the team. Secondly, Chandler Jones does not make or break this team.

And not that there is any correlation whatsoever, but this team went 1-6 upon his return to the line-up.

I love Chandler, and if he goes it just continues that maddening trend of losing guys right when it seemed like they were going to explode... that said though, given how raw he was and the injury this year, if he does leave lets take a deep breath and not act like we lost a guy that at any time in his career gave us a 15 sack season, just because he COULD have next year.

guys leave early all the time, borderline guys as well. This doesn't refelect poorly on C Jones or the program, IMO. SUre we could use him next year but so could every program that has a kid leave early

i would be very surprised if this is the way he decides to announce he is leaving syracuse.

take that for what its worth. but to me, if you think the ultimate syracuse guy, ultimate team guy, ultimate fan guy, deeply relgious good guy is going to announce on twitter with a bomb that he is leaving - i think you need to be suspended from this board till spring practice with all the people who think chad kelly cant get into clemson but can at syracuse.

I would view "the bomb" as he was staying. I fully expect him to leave if he is projected to draft in the in the mid rounds. Why would/should he stay?

Secondly, Chandler Jones does not make or break this team.

So... I disagree with this sentiment in general. This gets stated a lot when we whiff on a recruit, have a guy leave, lose a guy to injury, etc.

But, it seems to me if people want to make the argument that our talent is deficient and that explains our craptacular performances, we need to get rid of the "one guy doesn't make the team" mentality. Clearly we're deficient in a bunch of "one guys."

No question about that. But I think he also likes to play the good guy (at least from what can be surmised from twitter). I find it hard to believe he would set everyone up for a big announcement and then disappoint. We shall see
