The big boys probably complained. They needed a little more wiggle room to be able to manipulate the rules.

This rule really helps the newly hired coach who had a bunch of kids from the previous regime leave.

Yes, good rules. The increased freedom for players to transfer is surely part of the reason for this rule. Some teams will struggle to get through seasons when there are mass defections. Like UConn had from last season...

it takes the hard-earned experience that only comes from message board posting to know you have to keep your 5th string center well seasoned in case of emergency

As many as you want, as long as you don't go over 13 total scholarships.

Thank you, I thought they used to have you cant sign more than 5 in 1 year and 8 over a 2 year period.

They must have ended that rule to benefit the Dukes and Tuckys rent a player for 1 year style
