This chat is a great annual event here. Thanks for setting it up

Is this chat for democrats only, since this is going to be during Romney's big night? Nice try, Bees!

I would love a separate chat where Cali goes one-on-one with Nolan if that is possible. Thanks.

You should check out the KingOtto podcast where he brought Cali and RutgersAl onto the show at the same time. Perfection.

And, GO and Tomcat (I believe) have done a great job moderating. Thanks for setting it up, GO.

Nice. Make sure the Q&A chat rules are out here in advance. You should post them every 5 minutes. They are easy to follow, but always seem to be even easier not-to-follow.

The REAL Dave Rahme? The Man? The Legend? Can't wait!

In case you have never done one before, or have forgotten, here are the chat rules:

1) The featured guest, Dave Rahme, should set his cap lock on so when he types things in the chatroom, it really stands out.

2) Once the chat begins, chat participants cannot just blurt out a question when they have one. Instead, just type ? and press Enter. This is the special signal that tells the chat coordinator (GoSU96 or cto) that you want to ask a question. Your name will go into a queue they keep and when it is your turn to ask a question, they will let you know. Wait to ask questions until prompted.

3) No matter how much you may want to, do not make comments while the chat is happening. All you allowed to do is listen, type ? and when prompted, ask a question. No comments. Period. Save that for after Dave is finished. You can ask questions to the chat coordinators or other chat participants but do so in a private chat.

Why so many rules? The goal is to avoid anarchy and keep the focus of the chat where it belongs: on what the guest is saying.

If you cannot obey the rules, you will be warned. If you continue to disregard the rules, you will be banned from the chatroom. Don't make cto shoot you. It is be very upsetting to everyone.

Thanks in advance for being considerate and cooperative. A big reason the chats have been held regularly and been successful in the past is because people follow the rules. Don't be the group that couldn't follow the rules and spoiled chats for everyone. Lastly, be considerate of the guest and the position he is in. Don't ask him questions he cannot and should not answer (like whether the coaching staff should be fired).

Thanks in advance to Go for setting to one up and to cto for administrating it. And a great thank you to Dave for again agreeing to share his insights and opinions on this Syracuse football program we are all so crazy about.

Regards,

-Tom

P.S. I will not be here for this one...I have a company function I cannot get out of. Above all else, someone remember to save and post the transcript!

Unfortunately, I am going to miss it. Is there any way to get a transcript of the discussion pasted on the board to read later?

Yes, it would be very much appreciated if someone could save the transcript and post afterward!

if someone does do the transcript it should be noted that often things are said that should not always be posted, often the transcript needs some editing to remove any potentials issues with comments.

WARNING (no, Tom, I don't think the all caps thing is going to work; too obnoxious): I have worked every day since camp opened and am mostly brain dead (no quips about so what else is new, please). I may wander. I am walking a fine line in this situation, as I have greater access than most media to most things inside the program thanks to my role as analyst or quasi-analyst or soon-to-be-unemployed analyst (your choice). Such insight comes with a price - I cannot share information on specific schemes, personnel groupings and injuries. I can only share what all the media sees during the first 45 minutes of practice, although it gets even trickier this year because every practice at Fort Drum was open to anyone who was able to get on post. Some of you know of my situation, so there it is for all to read. That noted, everything I share tonight will be my opinion based on what I saw and not something someone has whispered in my ear. I know some of you are optimistic because I was generally optimistic during camp. That could be a fatal error, as I am always optimistic during camp (strange for a Philly guy, I know) because these are student-athletes and they are 0-0 and who the heck am I to piss on their parade in August anyway (obviously not a young buck looking to make a name for himself). Plus, I am watching a team practice against itself. I'm simply not good enough to draw any trustworthy conclusions under such circumstances. Is Brandon Reddish the next Will Allen, or do their receivers suck. Does Brandon Reddish suck, or are their receivers great? At virtually every position my opinion changed from day to day, so is that good or bad? Beats me. Give us a preseason game or two and we're all experts. Anyway, this is a little scene-setter for what you can expect tonight (I told you I may wander). And by the way, Center New York has some of the best trout fishing in the country.

Dave,

You had me at best trout fishing in last weeks piece.

War Damn Rahme.

Really bummed. I missed the chat because I'm at my inlaws beach house and only have my phone. Would love to see a transcript. If there's info that should be kept on the down low, I'm trustworthy if you feel comfortable PMing.
