do you call a play and make the D adjust or do you adjust the play to the D?

next time i see Dino and actually get to ask him questions again, thats what i want to know

If the D lines up on some formation and the offense lines up in some formation, and they both have done their homework each one should know what play will work or will work best. so then what does each do ? do they adjust pre/post snap to what they think is coming or only post snap to what they see?

Dino always says he runs the play based on what they see.. So if Clemson has 5-6 in the box we will mostly run, But dont they know that too? So if I think that by playing 5-6 in the box I can get an AVG running team to run more often wouldnt I want to do that? And if i have fast LBS and Safeties then i can stunt them in ways to blow up runs or make them want to run into certain spots.

so if you scouted SU and they are in a certain 3 wide 1 TE set and they see the D lineup just how much variation do we have in what we run? How many plays do we actually run against those certain sets is something the computer guys would know when they self scout I hope..

I think I read that each WR/RB has several different options based on how their opponents line up. The trick is all of the different elements have to read the same thing.

thats my point if you scout SU and you look at our sets can you then push is to a certain route based on reads? I mean if the D runs a formation and against what the O does and the DB lines up with a certain look just how many ways does the WR attack it? is it the same, how much does it vary based in the play call.

just say you are the outside WR does the play say go deep or curl base on the DB or does i say go left or right based on the DB. We dont use the middle at all for most of the game so there isnt a ton of places for the WR to go.

But I worry more that the D by scheme is dictating run vs pass, clemson put us in run box looks and then attacked us whether we ran or passed from that look.
