Kingz shot 44% from 3 last year. Even bell in his best year for us was not doing that from 3. He will definitely not be a bust. We have stats for this stuff. And he can actually do other things besides shoot the 3, unlike Bell.

They are putting up stats. Bells best game came in a game Cal lost and a game they were getting boat raced until a late rally where Chris did get hot. Chance is putting up big numbers for a much lower level team and mostly in losses. Neither of those should do anything but allow us to be happy for them in getting run and putting up some numbers but there isn’t anything to lament with respect to this team

The jury is still out on Kingz until he actually starts hitting shots. Previous pct not in an orange uniform really mean nothing. Learning how to shoot in the Dome seems to be different.

He’s an active and willing defender.
Can drive it to the rim.
Has more rebounds than a dead man on the regular.
Not a black hole - he’s made a few nice passes.
Appears to be a good teammate.

Agreed that his 3 ball shooting has been underwhelming so far, but that’s not the only thing he brings to the table.
Unlike his predecessor.

to add to this - shooting is the one of those things that are pretty consitent over a season. kingz is not going from 45% to 30%. I expect him to string them out and pace towards 40%. why? look at his predecessor

From November 4th through December 31st, Chris Bell shot 20.8% from three (11-for-53), but after January 1st he caught fire, hitting 43.9% of his threes (36-for-82) the rest of the way.

Bell did shoot 42% from 3 the year before... The hope was he would shoot that well again, and get better in every other area. Nobody, even fan boys like me, thought he was going to become an all around star. But an effective Bell is a good player to have offensively.

I think they thought Lampkin, Freeman, Bell, Starling and Westry would be a terrific first team, and that veteran depth Davis, Lucas Taylor, and Carlos would be decent depth, with Moore and Majstorovic would bring upside. So did I.

So much went wrong with that plan, even great coaches would have struggled to save the season.

I agree fully. Kingz is the starter right now that’s just not stuffing the stat sheet. It’s natural to look at him closer and zing him.

I say whatever cuz he knows his role.

guys who cares. he imploded last year. hope he turns his attitude around but he still doesn jump on jumpshots. he still doesnt play defense except for the random weak side highlight real block. other than that he does nothing. he is a ticking time bomb.

he will absolutely get hot from time to time. but when something doesnt go his way - he will implode again. its his DNA.

he started the year 2/13 from 3. and then has been on a heater since.

he will revert to the mean soon enough. he literally doesnt jump on jump shots. people just have to defend him close and cant play help d. he will go in a slump. adn then he will blame his teammates.

a perfect example of what i mean. 55 shouldnt have been playing so far off of him (he will help space the floor for sure. but this is an easy block/tip for anyone over 6'5" defending him.
