BTW Those devices intended to distract the player at the free throw line should be disallowed ! Wave and shout all you want but the optical illusion garbage should not be allowed. I've observed that most fans including some of ours are totally disgusting. Fans shouldn't try to be "the show".

But the fans, and student sections, are what make college basketball great.

I found it funny when they chanted "USA" when Keita screwed up.

I also liked that swirly twilight zone thing they had near the hoop during free throw. They should give one of those to every member of the student section at SU home games.

I see no issue.

'Patrick Ewing Can't Read This' is one of my all time favorite signs.

When a player goes out to what appears to be academics, this kind of stuff is fair game.

Fab can speak as many languages as he wants... he isn't acting very intelligent since he's been here.

The only chant I had a problem with (and have always had a prolem with) is the "U-S-A" chants when Baye was shooting free throws. I'm the most patriotic American that you'll find, but that is so low class.

I had no problem with any of the things the ND students did, with the exception of whacking Scoop in the back with a towel when he was waiting to inbound the ball. That should have resulted in a technical foul and the fan should have been ejected.

Baye has more gray matter than about 99.9% of the students shouting USA. In the end however, you just need to get it done on the court. Crying about poor sportsmanship by the student body is pretty lame.

A sophomore with all that tutoring? I would wonder the same thing as an opponent..l

If fan decorum was a deciding factor we would have had to forfeit most of our games when the Manley Zoo was in it's prime.

We would have done the same thing. Don't act like our students, myself included, walk on water.

In my opinion...

The "USA!" chants: completely harmless. They did the same thing for Andy (who is Canadian) a couple years ago when we played at ND two years ago.

The "Fab can't read!" or "Ewing can't read this" signs/chants: extremely tacky and inappropriate.
