Classy

IIRC, that was Brown's first collegiate carry, and it was late in the game, with the score tied. Whose bright idea was it to give him the rock in that situation?

First carry?

IMO, as brutal as that was, the 3rd and 14 conversion on USF's first set of downs on that drive was worse.

We had all the momentum and the USF D would have had to have gone right back on the field

I agree and tell me if I'm way off on this, but that seemed like an egregious coaching decision on 3rd and very long when we needed the ball back.

I get that we stack the box on Defense and suffer big plays sometimes as a result...OK, fine. One of the infuriating parts can be where we line up 2 defenders over another team's 3 WRs, so they block our two guys and have a talented athlete in open space. (Why more teams don't do this against us is beyond me)

But on 3rd and long with the game on the line, don't we have an adjustment for this? It must be harder to run up the middle for 15 yards than throw it wide like that.

Just an observation, and it seemed to me like we didn't adjust

We got killed on the screens in the first half and the option killed us in the second...

His plays stuck out, but I'm not sure Estime made the call to sprint away on the punt return. It didn't look like any return blockers were jetting.

Also, our TE was letting guys cross his face without laying a hand on them.

Finally, besides the overall play of the D, Lester handcuffing Dungey and the offense in the 1H was the biggest problem.

Let ED, Jordan, Erv and Ish out of the box early. If we are going to be in a dog fight each week, at least go in being aggressive.

Estime also decided to fair catch one ball inside the 5 yard line. Should've been benched for that decision alone and hope the staff holds him accountable when they review the film.

He also took a ball out of the end zone on the opening kickoff that should have been kneeled. We lost about 14 yards of starting position.

I agree estime has some responsibility there. He seemed out of position to fair catch it which may have thrown whitner off.

You know what - I think you're right.

Same game where we forgot to cover Torrey Holt on the GW 2-pt conversion, right?
Coach p looked dumbfounded on that play

Youngsters gonna, ummm...youngst, but there's really no excuse for the timidity we showed on offense. Why Lester insists on calling plays w/ a stick firmly embedded in his posterior is beyond me.
Let Dungey off the leash and let us display some semblance of an O, before we get to "catch up desperation mode". Is that too much to ask?
