Clay Helton gets USC job

And Orgeron screams "hey why didn't you guys do that for me?!". And Chip Kelly loses a good place to jump to.

Chip Kelly will go back to college after next season and follow the same paths as Nick Saban and Steve Spurrier...successful in college but dud's in the NFL.

Pete Carroll failed the first time in the NFL and is now doing quite well.

As a Trojan I love the move. He wanted to see more toughness in general on both lines and wanted to see a more physical team. The talent is there to beat anybody. He deserves a lot of credit for righting the ship with all of the distractions. They have had a bunch of injuries and were down to their 5th different C for example to beat a good UCLA team.

This has the potential to be USC's Dabo Swinney. Who was a interim HC at Clemson following Tommy Bowden and kept the job and has done well.

USC back channeled with Chip Kelly no doubt and he probably is going to get one more year in Philly. So they went smart and kept it in house. USC has the talent you want to keep happy.

As a USC grads mom I know it is all about the UCLA win. Once he won that it was a done deal. Really he stepped into a situation where the season easily could have just been a disaster, and turned it around from the very first game. He did an incredible job of keeping the players focused on the game and not the drama, and they won. Beating UCLA is always important, but that game was really the indicator of what this coach has accomplished in a short time.

Was on the Oregon Ducks football forum last night and they were concerned about Kelly going to USC so they must be happy quacks today.

begs the question--why does eddie o get overlooked? are there issues??
