Why if they said 15 yard face mask from the spot of the foul which was at the 20 yard line did they get the ball at the 23 a few downs before their field goal

They clearly ed up.

Yep it has to be as I was checking the rule to see if it was a spot foul and it Has to be a spot foul 15 yard infraction

it's one thing to be out classed physically. it's another to outclassed physically and keep shooting yourself in the foot. we gotta clean up this penalty thing if we want to compete at a higher level. 9 penalties 85 yds and 4 1st downs. discipline.

That wasn't the only time. I mean, Props to Clemson. They're really good and don't need any help from the officials. Unfortunately, they got plenty from my seat. Clemson guy's foot touching the sideline. Their LT obviously tackling our DE on one play and hooking/holding him all day - no call until the game was out of reach. Interference calls failing to reflect contact by both teams - yet only one team getting flagged. Then the Refs procedure-happy and hyper-picky focus on SU's offense . . . flagging Jackson for not being set because he stopped but wasn't perfectly still (come on). "Snap infraction" was an LOL - especially while the same crew had no trouble missing Clemson's 12 men, interference and holding. If there is a perception that northern teams can't get a break in the ACC, this game didn't do anything to tamp it down.

if we just knew enough to snap when clemson had 12 men on we could have had 3-4 penalties.. skip the play and just take the yds..

Penalties are just part of the breaks - it can go both ways - but there were a lot of no calls in Clemson’s favor. Sack on Tommy that appeared to be a facemask, push off by their WR on a TD catch late, multiple times their o line started before the snap, some blatant pass interference against our WR ... it was a lot. Thems the breaks
