Clemson football facilities

I don't think you try to compete with that if you're SU, else you may end up like Rutgers, UConn or Maryland with huge athletic department deficits that cripple your sports programs.
I think SU has been prudent in the development of its facilities, as much as that may rankle some on here.

I agree 100% - just trying to spark some discussion.

But remember, you simply can’t pay the players! Sorry that you and my brothers and sisters don’t have enough food, mom. Did I tell you about the slide?

Never have and never will. Dumb article
I wouldn't call it a dumb article and I don't advocate trying to compete. Just wanted to highlight the facilities gap for those fans who constantly whine about SU being too cheap to compete with the truly big boys.

Well, for one, they got an 8 figure donation within six weeks of asking their coach ... Not sure any major donors to SU are going to focus on the AD ...

Although this reminds me, we need a better more exciting entrance for when we come out on to the field. Something to get the crowd rocking right off the start. A reminder to all of how hard it’s gojng to be to play in the loud house!

I hope that doesn't show how far Syracuse has to go. Because if that's the goal they're driving toward, I'm dropping my tickets. It's higher education, not a circus.

I hear what you're say, but it's a significant obstacle. Dino pitches private university and academics to recruits (SU moved up 9 spots in the most recent 2019 US News & World Report rankings from 62 to 53) but Clemson isn't too far behind (academically) at 66. So, it's not like Clemson doesn't take its higher education principles lightly.

As diehard Syracuse sports fans, I think many of us (if being 100% transparent) would like SU to possess the best of both worlds, if it were possible.

JR....I'd like actually see a crowd there when they come out. The thunder of the fans was, is and will always be the best entrance for the team.

who else has 3 indoor practice facilities? no one, only we do. Need to start talking about that more

4 star recruits have many alternatives that offer superior facilities. Clemson is not an anomaly.
Ranking the Top 25 facilities in college football for 2018
Our current concern is retention of our coach. If I was coach I would prefer a school where it would be easier to recruit 4 star players. I assume that Dino, or any successful coach, has the same sentiment. I understand that we should be above garbage that disregards the primacy of academics. However, the reality is that college football is a sordid business. Another disconcerting fact is that athletic success correlates with student applications and over the long run increasing student applications lead to higher academic ranking just as four star recruits over the long run lead to more athletic success.

(note the shoe dryers in the Clemson video)

You're 100% correct that success of higher exposure athletics leads to an increase in applications, along with the quality of same. Look at Villanova from their recent hoops success and two national championships. There's a direct causal relationship between success of their hoops program, and quality of student applications. It's not a coincidence that their academic national ranking has moved up, which now is ahead of SU's.

Ez pz.

Video board plays Dino saying whose house and the fans yell OUR HOUSE. Do this a few times progressively faster and have the team run out at the end.

Followed by the opposing team running out on the field to Dino’s “it’s not their fault” and the crowd chiming in “THEY DIDN’T KNOW!”

Amazing we can compete without a putt putt course or a slide...

In all reality - that stuff doesn’t matter imo - but the locker room, me oh my, me want.

True college fb loving fanbases make sure they are seated for the start of the game including the fan entrance. Its what the team feeds off and has the most impact. Its a staple of teams in the south and the northern big boys and it makes a huge friggin difference...

Nailed it, that would be an awesome start. Gets me hype just thinking about it ‍

Can we please send this to Wildhack and make it happen at some point? That would be so freaking awesome

This is as nice or nicer in some ways than some NFL facilities. Way over the top in some ways... It's football not Bali.

There are two kinds of people in the world:
...those that have seen Rocky IV

...and Those that have not seen Rocky IV.
