In 2011 (WVU) and 2012 (Louisville) we handily beat a team in the Dome that went on to win a BCS game. Obviously Clemson is going to be very difficult, but the Dome is such a weird/unique place to play for teams not used to it... anything can happen.
We had many a night game on Saturdays during the McNabb era - Va Tech from 1998 was 8:05 p.m. kickoff and we had 49K.
If you want to attend, you will make an effort to. I'm pretty sure all youth football games are done by 8 p.m. on Saturdays.
Well, crap. We have a hotel room for Friday night in anticipation of a noon game but no reservation for Saturday night. I have a flight to Madison, WI on Sunday morning. I am hoping for noon.
It's probably too dark to rake leaves as well.I'm pretty sure all youth football games are done by 8 p.m. on Saturdays.
If your flight is Sunday morning don't you need a hotel room for Saturday night regardless of kick off time?
Noon game: "GAME IS TOO EARLY NOBODY WANTS TO HIKE UP TO THE DOME EARLY IN THE MORNING WE HAVE THINGS TO DO IN THE MIDDLE OF THE DAY."
Prime-time game on ABC against top 3 opponent: "WOW WHY WOULD SYRACUSE PLAY THAT LATE OF A GAME? I DON'T WANT TO LEAVE AT 11:00 P.M. THAT'S AN AWFUL TIME. SYRACUSE NEEDS TO EVALUATE THE TIMES THEY PLAY TO MAKE IT CONVENIENT FOR EVERYBODY."
Fact is, times won't be convenient for everybody. When Syracuse has the opportunity to play a prime time game against a top 5 opponent in their first ever ACC football game, you take it and run with it. If fans don't want to go because it's a late game, I'll give you my address, send me your ticket, and I'll fly from Florida and go to the game.
Because those discussions don't happen on other boards. You are so right. I have never seen the discussion on other boards that game times generate on this board.
