I hope so because the false start turned kept us from another possible score. That was the biggest play of the game so far. 31-7 and Clemson may have given up. Instead 24-14

We were still forty yards from the goal line. One penalty or drop could have also killed the drive. We had already dropped a big pass before the motion penalty.

Positives:

10 point lead
123 Rushing yards
Sticking with our best receivers, JR'S, Cook, Villari and Gill have all but one catch, and a majority of snaps. I feel like we hurt ourselves by rotating our our best players.
Defense forced a couple punts and stopped the Hail Mary.
We got a sack and 3 TFL.
The onside kick is going to make opposing coaches sleep poorly during Syracuse game prep the rest of the season.

Negatives:

It liked like we were about to be up 31-7 at 5:40 remaining in the Half. Instead it's 24-14. Crushing momentum change.

Conclusions:

We came in with a line that actually pushed a few points to -17.5 and we're up against a team that the betting public figured a blowout loss was the AVERAGE result.

We really took it to them, and THEY are the ones worrying in the halftime locker room.

If the running game continues to be pounding the Clemson defense, this game is not just winnable, but the likely outcome.

The only thing stopping our passing game is batted balls. Why are we getting so many batted down. Our WR are owning them

I have but they definitely let a lot go on those. Having said that, we were really testing the limits of what they allow. Hand fighting and jostling for position is extremely normal but literally tackling players to the ground is not.

I have concerns about the momentum shift. Fran needs to get everyone to reset and we need to do what they were doing for most of the first half.

And no more dumb penalties. It's only close because we let them stick around.
