Did the Priceline thing and ended up with the Baymont in Carrier Circle for 45 doll/nt for Sat. Its shown as a 2 1/2 star hotel. All I care about is clean and bug free and reviews seem to indicate both.

I guess this post is both an FYI for someone still looking as well as a question. Photos show a Hampton Inn. Any idea when or why it changed?

Check up in Cicero/Liverpool better areas. The baymont is a piece of Shiot

I never get this...if I'm traveling by myself all I care about is if the room is secure, bed decent and the TV/Shower/toliet works. I don't get all riled up about this like some of you. I've stayed in some absolute sh!tholes in the military overseas so I'm not a pussie about motels.

Each person has a budget and I think Freak did great to get a $45 room. I just don't see the sense to spending $200 for a place you are spending 8-10 hours at. We spend enough $$$ following this team on tix, travel, food and beer...if yo can save some on a hotel--great!

As Mark noted as long as the room is secure, place is mostly clearn and you have a working bathroom you should be good. My recommendation is if you are coming up on Friday or even Saturday, try to get here a few hours earlier then you planned so you can scope out the hotel. If its a disaster there are a bunch of other hotels on carrier circle one of which will surely have a room.

The quagmire that has not allowed this to be torn down has recently been resolved. I think there is now a plan to remove this and replace it. http://www.syracuse.com/news/index.ssf/2013/08/howard_johnson.html

Just to add something else to this. It's not like Syracuse has a Ritz-Carlton or Waldorf Astoria. Even the "nice" hotels aren't the greatest places ever.

I'll now get off my NYC snobby smack down.

Enjoy the game. Enjoy the tailgating. As long as you can get to and from where you need to go without an issue, should be fine.

Yea i know haha..i was just messin with him. Im so glad they are finally taking care of that, such a damn eyesore and embarrassing for the city.

Depends, price aside, it's nice to travel back and stay on campus or a couple of blocks from campus and get all that in. Even if the place is nice to be miles away isn't as fun, and that's a big part of it for some.

I heard they might finally tear it down...totally unacceptable to have it like that forever. The area is hot right now as 5 new hotels are being built/planned around Carrier Circle due mainly to Destiny.

That's my problem Mike...I love both. The food is so good in the Northeast. Texas BBQ is awesome but the NE kills it in everything else.

Ill accept that. haha Syracuse has better pizza than NYC though and its not debatable. The reason is our water in Syracuse that makes the dough better than anywhere in the world.

I like Cosmo's pizza. Sabastino's still had marks on the bottom from whatever container the factory shipped it in.
