Clemson Postgame Party Thread

- Dabo was an absolute fool letting Cuse get the ball first.

- Love the onside kick. Great scouting and execution. How many times in the last regime would someone have touched that early? Really awesome attention to detail there that is something this program has significantly lacked in previous years. DETAILED.

- Cook had some nasty routes to get open.

- the oline really dominated. Which was pretty wild given who they were up against.

- Felt Clemson Oline got away with a lot of holding but I agree some calls did help the good orange.

- They trust Collins throwing. I think that was the one issue in the game on Cuse end the clock management.

- Angeli was injured the first time. Quite noticeably… then the second may have been the other side I don’t know. Either way, he’s likely done and we have to move on with the reality that this is football and injuries happen. What a great performance from Angeli thus far.

- I want to see some more jet sweeps for the running game with the speedy receivers.

- Some drops from JRS. He’s still a clear NFL talent. Crazy catch he made look routine for early score.

- Dlow in linebacker forced a crucial turnover. The amount of young talent here.

- Grant is probably our most under rated player. He flies to the ball and has that top tier CFB level ability to stick with top receivers. Very rare.

- Woody smashing one dead center.

- Erob best game coached at Cuse. So much disguise. Love it.

- The punting teams operations are so clean which is such a relief.

Amazing win. I didn't think we would be able to score on their D. That first half was perfect. Nixon is special. Although I wish he wasn't allergic to running the ball. Especially after Angeli went down. Even more so when we were trying to kill clock.

From the replay Angeli's foot went sideways, which to me wouldn't indicate an achilles. Unless it happened the step prior. I would guess that it is an ankle injury.

Had the injury not occurred, we legit had a chance at a big season. But I think there is a huge drop off with Collins.

Great job by ERob. We could have been even better had we not taken poor angles on a few TFL or Sacks that were missed. That first Clemson TD should have never happened.

Our pass coverage has been very good lately. But I am still unsure if we can stop the run. I think Clemson played into our hands putting the game on the most overrated QB every year in the last three years.

Also we looked great vs GA Tech last year and then it went downhill. We need this not to be a one off on D. Grant is good around the LOS, and had a great game.

What a jump for the STs. The KO out of bounds stunk but everything else went well.

Going into today I was confident that we would beat Duke. It stinks that this is now in doubt with Angeli out. Also Fran better remind the team of last year going from a high to a low (GA Tech/Stanford). Don't want that to happen again.
Spot on re Collins. With Angeli We’re gonna all see how important he is/was. He was playing at Mcords level and would’ve continued to do so, huge, huge huge loss. They will need to by and large change up the offensive game plan in order to have a chance to win. We will no longer be a pass Happy O it will be, even Steven running and passing now with middling success. Dammit. Re Angeli he’s done for the year, classic blown Achilles mechanism of injury, which I still cannot believe in such a young kid who hasn’t played a lot that it would deteriorate that bad.

My hunch is, it’s this because it’s so often is(read down to risk factors for the highlighted part):

I'll take issue with the response to the roughing the passer calls. Dabo was absolutely furious with both of them but especially the second one, even though it was very obvious and the targeting infraction was dropped; it came across to me that he thought his defensive guys should be allowed to rough up our QB without penalty. Screw him.
Fair enough. I saw the plays differently. Thought they were on the path to the qb close to when the passes were thrown. I think it is hard to hold up in that situation.

Achilles is usually from an over extension, correct? What I saw was landing on a turned foot. Unless it was the step prior which they didn't really show.

For the Fran and SEC talk, there’s just no way unless UGA. I lived in North Florida in Gator country, that’s a different breed down there and those boosters want someone they can control and lean on. That ain’t Fran. The fans may want it but that’s not happening

You think it’s his taking antibiotics that caused this rather than him playing football?

Agree - I lived in Gainesville for 4 years for graduate school.

Fluoroquinolone use has been linked to tendon rupture. However they are only used for severe infections and not commonly prescribed. Plus any sports med doc would not have their athletes taking them simply because the tendon risk is real.

That was 60 minutes of absolute mistake free football. Literally zero mistakes. Honestly the only errors the entire game were the coaches who mismanaged the 4th quarter clock management a bit.
Not true. Big mistakes by braheem Long with the taunting penalty and Yasin Willis false start could’ve cost us the game

Our next goal is beating Duke at home next week.
I really think if we play at the same intensity as today, the only teams that could challenge us this year are only Notre Dame and Miami. Even the third best team in our remaining schedule, SMU, is an easy win. We will beat SMU like we beat Clemson.
