This was about four years too late for us. We could of used these rules in the Butler Sweet 16 game.

Edit: They should also crack down on the coaches on the floor. Get Buzz, Pitino and Dixon off the court.

JB needs to alert the refs about the hand-checks to the waist that Notre Dame big men do every time somebody goes up for a shot inside. It alters momentum, causes missed, layups, and NEVER gets called. I sat behind the basket and watched Harangody do it to AO over and over. I think Brey teaches this technique.

The problem has been the conferences's interpretation and implementation of the rules. The NCAA sets out the rules but the refs are employed by the conferences. It will be an interesting year for JB, Dixon, and Brey. They have to figure out what they can and cannot do with the old rules; plus these new interpretations.

Hopefully the powers that be have realized that the product on the court has become borderline unwatchable at times over the last several years, with the incessant hand checking, clutching, etc., both on and off the ball, disrupting what is supposed to be a beautiful back and forth game showcasing the talents of some of the best athletes in the world.

Not sure what makes you think they "appear to suck this year?" They very well might but you can't really tell that from a scrimmage they lost to a team that won 29 & 24 games the past 2 seasons including a Sweet 16. Xavier really struggled last year but they have 4 starters returning and will likely be very competitive in the Big East. Semaj Christon and Dee Davis will be one of the better backcourts in the Big East.

What makes me nervous about these new rules is that they are geared mainly towards guards. We only have 1 pg, so it might hurt us a lot.

I'm going to have to disagree with you there. The Suplex was made illegal 2001 but still wasn't called so I still think we would have lost the Butler game.
