CMAC started for the Nets tonight

it's crazy that 30 years ago, that guy would be a sophomore with two more years of college ball ahead of him - no wonder those Big East teams back in the 80s were so ridiculous
Different world. N Carolina kept Jordan and Worthy for 3 years, Perkins for 4.

I'll never forget everything he did for Syracuse. He is truly one of the ALL TIME greats to ever don an Orange jersey. His commitment to the school and his program is nothing short of legendary.

Who can ever forget his performance against Long Beach State? An effort for the ages! Or how about his game against Cornell? With 6 points in 24 minutes, can anyone say "Instant Classic"?

I honestly believe we should look into retiring his #5 jersey as a way to honor his commitment to excellence.

Have fun being a bitter pr*ck about it.

You know, if we want to sign top flight talent, it helps us if McCullough is a successful one and done.

Not sure why this is necessary.

It's his fault he tore his ACL?

That make you feel good?

Don't get that post. McC was always going to be a 1-and-done. You're acting like he quit the team or caused locker room and chemistry issues. McC was all in while he was healthy, and was improving as the season went on, and could have been a lottery pick if he never hurt his knee. As OttoinGrotto mentioned above, it helps if we can point to McC being an NBA success, and try to take some credit for that.

He bleeds orange too

Sucks that he played about 13 games for us. Knew he was leaving early but would have really enjoyed a full season of CMAC with the Cuse.

This. Everyone knew he was a one and done. He tore his ACL, not his fault and from everything I've heard, he loves Syracuse. I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't people say he came to a Manhattan Cuse bar to watch tourney games with the fans?.. That says everything I need to know about McCullough. Hardcore rooting for this guy.

He did, and tweeted out himself celebrating!

Yup. Saw him sitting behind the bench for the FSU game at the Dome this year.

With the ACL tear we wouldn't even have gotten a full year out of him last year. When was it that he got back on the court?

his highlights

Damn. I thought seeing the highlights would make me even happier for him, but they just make me disappointed and a bit angry! Wish we had him in Orange for two solid years. He could have been special.

I think the line has to be drawn between dissappointed and anger. Dissappointment is ok but you should not be angry.

He started playing games right before the All Star break in Feb. Not sure if he was ready earlier than that and just didn't get in, or if they held him out longer to be conservative with it. But 2/8/16 was his first NBA action.

He tore his ACL 1/11/15.

That's a VERY conservative timeline for recovery from ACL surgery.

To put it in perspective a little...Devendorf tore his ACL December 2007... And was back and ready to go by November 2008.

My guess is it was the second one; if he was here for another year I bet he would have been playing a month or two earlier?
