Coach just admitted a mistake!

"I should have brought Trevor in for Frank when we tied it up and put the ball in Mike's hands."
Sounded like he threw Frank under the bus there lol. I think his mistake was not having Mike bring the ball up. Howard was fine, just take it out of his hands.

Couldn't agree more. This coming from a huge Howard supporter.

Biggest possession of the season up to that point and Howard brings it up!? I don't get it.

In one of Torre's last years as the Yankees manager, he had gotten to be so stubborn with his pushbutton lineups that Brian Cashman had to trade guys away so that Torre wouldn't over-rely on them to do things that they weren't capable of doing.

Unbelievable, JB has more fire in his press than he did for 38 mins. When you Coach a bad game, don't compound it by being an *** to reporters asking fair questions. I love JB, but sometimes he is plain rude haha. We wonder why we get no breaks when it comes to coin toss situations.

Why does boeheim think there is something special about tying the game? We are tied must stop pressing, we are tied must put starter back in
Yup. It wasn't like there was five minutes left. There was still a huge sense of urgency.

Because it allows to him set up the vaunted zone so that the opposing team has an open look at a three, a lower percentage shot.

I don't agree with it, but that's why.

Put the ball in G's hands- have the defense come to him. he passes to an open Cooney with Roberson under the basket.

The stop of the press when we tied it was mind boggling.
This. Pitt was so unsettled with the press they were rushed and you could tell the pressure was really getting to them. When we sat back in the zone they could relax.

We got it close and JB went back to what was comfortable.

Frank made a bad pass, but G has to come and get that ball, aggressively. That's on both of them.

And on Lydon with the screen.

We need to go back the my vaunted zone D that was being shredded rather than what got us back in the game. Been doing that foreverrrrr.

I think he was using it as a point of reference, not necessarily saying he should have brought Cooney back in because it was tied.

Yeah, pulling the press off whilst Pitt was self-destructing seemed questionable.

Alternatively, Frank can stay in and the ball can be in G's hands.

I wonder if that was what G was shouting to Howard before that inbound with the score tied....that would have made jumping the screen all the easier. lolol

Scott Proctor should sue Joe Torre for negligence in overusing him.

Proctor was pitching literally everyday it seemed. I remember Cashman trading Proctor away and then when Torre went to LA he was Proctor's manager again.

There's no issue here.
No matter what team you are...with the game on the line you want the ball in your best player's hands.
Period.

We didn't accomplish it with the score tied.
And we didn't do it for the last shot.
Yes, G is covered.
OF COURSE HE'LL BE COVERED.
Don't you set a play to at least try to get him a little room?
