I do believe that Coach Marone was a little paranoid before the Rutgers game last year. And I think the players picked up on it. If you recall the season went down hill from there.

I'm hoping for the sort of game from SU as Marrone's first game v. them in 2009. That was a wild one with SU players flying all over the dome field.

I was a casual fan Syracuse football fan when I walked in to that game and walked out a Syracuse football die-hard. True story. I joined TOS two days later.

Didn't we beat WVU after the Rutgers game?
no we went down and had to kick a fg to beat a horrible Tulare team

Marrone was paranoid about the injuries getting out in the media - and rightfully so, we lined up with both starting corners with casts on their hands, it wasn't good, this is when the injuries began to mount

So HCDM's paranoia caused the injuries to mount?

I'm not sure how much a role DM's attitude played in anything but I do remember him being borderline suicidal in the pressers leading up to that game. Strange vibe for a head coach to be putting out there, even if it was warranted with injuries/lack of depth, etc. Did it cause the problems that followed? I have no idea but it was a weird week.

and your point is?---

Didn't the OP suggest that the season went downhill after the Rutgers game?

Before we destroyed WVU on national TV?

Need any more clarification?

the injuries led to marrone's paranoia. I believe the original poster is referencing PTG last year and that incredible childish saga.

at least we know he isnt the only 1. Supposedly Urban Meyer edits the tapes he sends to conf foes and Lane Kiffin tries to keep injuries as quiet as possible like Marrone.

Injuries did mount last year big time. Wasn't it Miranovich that said in an article a few weeks ago that mid way through last year a lot of the starters weren't even practicing during the week? I do believe Marrone could see the drop off coming with the injuries mounting and wanted to keep a lid on it in hopes of stealing one more win to become bowl eligible. I don't see anything wrong with that.
