But is it unofficially officially done?Cant officially be done until USF is done with the season
BH is from upstate NY. He has been a Syracuse fan his whole life. So, Syracuse is potentially a bigger job. In a large arena. A place that has been to the mountain top. There isn't a lot of reasons to pick P.C. over Syracuse. Now, Syracuse is capable of hiring someone different than BH. No doubt about that. So, BH could end up at P.C. or somewhere else. But his choice would be Syracuse if it was down to P.C. and Syracuse. Is PC’s AD not trying to save his butt at this point? Why wouldn’t he for a home run hire and over pay for that candidate, such as Hodgson?
no see that was all long-play leverage to get the pc jobI am going to make it known I want the Syracuse job for 2 years, and then when push comes to shove, I am going to pick Providence?? - That was said by nobody ever and will not happen.
More and more of this is checking out. Good info manFrom what im hearing, you can choose to believe me or not, Hodgson is heading to Providence. Jerrod Calhoun has struck down the Kansas State job and might be waiting for the Cinci/Pitt job to open up. Schertz feels like he doesn’t need to jump this cycle as STL has the NIL and enough money for his salary to compete at a high level like they’ve done this year. To me, it’s Gerry McNamara and possibly Shaheen Holloway for our job opening.

I know some are making the case that PC is a very good job at present. I think it is a decent job. But with Hodgson (or many other coaches whose star is currently shining), I would expect they would hold out for better. Pitt would be a better job I think, current buyout issues notwithstanding.I am going to make it known I want the Syracuse job for 2 years, and then when push comes to shove, I am going to pick Providence?? - That was said by nobody ever and will not happen.
Ya, heard rumors that her breath stinksYou can do better.
Dan Mullen...refresh, refresh, refresh..Yeah I feel like all of these schools basically know who there next guy is and waiting to announce. Until then it’s Dan Mullen Thanksgiving thread mania.
Appreciate you.More and more of this is checking out. Good info man
I’m still holding out hope it’s Hodgson, but if it’s really between Gmac and Holloway I want Holloway. I think he’s a good enough coach that could do well here and I really want an outside hire. From what im hearing, you can choose to believe me or not, Hodgson is heading to Providence. Over 300 pages and 8000 post! The fact that there have been 338 pages of this thread in a little over 15 months should tell you that Syracuse fans are STARVING for a winning basketball program.
This is arguably the most important men’s basketball hire of this generation. It’s the hire AFTER the guy that fails replacing the legend that’s the critical one.
And that’s exactly why you don’t give it to Hopkins or McNamara. Get a guy (or gal - Dawn Staley) in here that can bring this program back from the dead.
Total BS.I seriously dont buy any of this.
They need 15 million to just do that.
Tend to agree. Holloway can coach, and hasn’t had the greatest resources at Seton. Apparently he’s had around 6 million in NIL which is tough to compete with when some schools are double that in the Big East.I’m still holding out hope it’s Hodgson, but if it’s really between Gmac and Holloway I want Holloway. 2/2 so far but okTotal BS.
2/2 so far but ok
This is exactly correct. The thing though about any worry of BH going for a BIGGER job in College Basketball if he sees success is that Syracuse will be a BIGGER job if BH brings success to Syracuse. If the money made from basketball is used to reinvest in basketball and BH is getting 25k plus to the dome on the regular. Syracuse will be a consensus top 15 job again.
Big deal, we all pretty much knew Schertz was likely holding out until a big Midwest gig opens up and Calhoun was always a shaky possibility at K State. I don’t for one minute believe that we told Hodgson our resources will be ACC bottom of the barrel or whatever. We were likely higher this year and that was with cheap ass Kent running the show at SU. Especially with the likelihood that Lally will be all in with BH. Anything can happen with these searches of course, including BH not coming here, but I cannot imagine him going to PC over the school in his home area that he has openly coveted in the past2/2 so far but ok
Lots of people are going to look stupid if all of this ends up checking out. Why be so negative? If its wrong its wrong, no need to just blast someone for posting info they heardI called Schertz staying and betting on himself months ago. Not exactly groundbreaking information to claim a 2/2, but go on and impress the internet people with stuff you are reading on twitter and other message boards.
let's say the $6m nil is accurate, a 7-win season is still an immediate disqualifierTend to agree. Holloway can coach, and hasn’t had the greatest resources at Seton. Apparently he’s had around 6 million in NIL which is tough to compete with when some schools are double that in the Big East.
