We are thinking too short term. It’s a long term fix. We have to invest from the ground level to build up. They are going to get no fans next year if Hopkins is the coach. The only way this works is if he wins 25 games and it’s not happening. We go to Vegas again next year. The season will be over by Thanksgiving again if he’s coach. It sounds like there’s no strategic or innovative thinking on the hill if this is the hire.

I think there's innovative thinking again Hodgson was the 1st choice. The bottom line is $$. There's only so much to go around and fball takes precedent.

The key word is WITH HIM (Melo). Correct, they can do whatever they want it is their money, doesn't mean it is right and doesn't mean it is the correct choice it just means they have money so they get to pick a terrible coach for the university. So yes Melo is one of the reasons why we aren't getting Hodgson. Maybe not the main reason but one of the reasons we are not getting the best/hottest coach on the market.

But never tell me they are looking out for the best interests of the Syracuse basketball program. Hiring Hopkins is the opposite of that.

Fran better win games then. JW and Blair both gaslit the fanbase saying this was the best job available this offseason saying they’d hire the a coach that won at this level.

Hopkins is none of that. He’s awful. I don’t care how
much more money we would have with him as coach. We are still at a disadvantage recruiting with his track record.
