Coach Search Options after Autry

So the skillset is there and he showed ability as a passer early on. He just needs to actually have a good coach who demands more out of him and knows how to teach and coach offense. I’m not advocating he return just saying you don’t have to have an Avila clone in the SLU offense.
I gotcha. I'm just thinking about Freeman and, really, last year's team with a different coach. Freeman has a lot of ability still to unlock IMO. I think it was Bulldog who mentioned somewhere around here that, at least at the time, a lot of the roster might be returning due to no other offers. There's a part of me that would be really curious to take last year's roster and see what a good coach could accomplish with it.

i don't think it was our tix rep, at least mine wasn't. it was michael taylor who's higher up in the legends society food chain.
Michael is also my ticket rep. Was before he moved up the food chain, and remained so. So I guess he kept me under his finger, lol.

Get ready for it.

I have seen several posts along the lines of, "Schertz with X million NIL or Gerry with 1.2-1.5X million NIL?"

The thing is that's focused on year 1 only. Give Schertz a middle of the pack ACC roster and he's going to give you a top 5-6 ACC result. If he takes a middle of the pack ACC roster with substandard NIL to the dance, what's the year 2 NIL look like?

If successful, both NIL numbers are going to converge towards about the max that can be generated. So the real question is, who has the highest chance of success? The follow up is, given the max NIL we can generate, who's going to take it the farthest?

Schertz is as close to 100% likely to succeed as it gets in this business. And so far he's clearly the answer to the second question as well.

Nobody should take this as a knock on Gerry, and he could pull the upset in 5-10 years and be a better coach than Schertz. But Schertz is already one of the best in the business.

Yup- probably many who never watched the Dean Smith UNC teams on this board as more younger fans have joined but those teams like Roy’s teams loved to get up and down for 40 mins. That’s exactly what Nate wants to do and does at Bama. It’s the ideal fit aside from it not being a UNC guy.
Really? I remember the opposite from Dean Smith. He used the “four corner offense” where they would just pass the ball around for many, many minutes to burn the clock. Obviously this was before the shot clock. He made basketball very boring even with superior talent. Just like old saying when MJ was in college: “Dean Smith is the only one in college basketball that can hold Jordan to under 20 points.”

I can’t help but see how Gerry and his Siena level talent lost by 4 in the closing minutes to the number one team in the country and Schertz with his higher level St Louis talent (higher than Siena) just got destroyed by Michigan. Flipping destroyed!
Games with all the spotlights on matter. BH and USF weren’t ready to play Louisville earlier and St Louis just had their shorts pulled over their head.
Surely it has nothing to do with Duke not being able to throw it in the ocean and Michigan playing really well.

They ran a lot. The 93 title team averaged 86 ppg

The last few days have made me realize I might be the youngest person on this board. A lot of you have recollections of eras where I wasn’t even a thought in my parents my minds lol
Wound be an honor to pass you the torch. I've set a high standard with my trips to timeout and posts from strip clubs but I believe in you.
