someone smarter than me help me understand how having players on a MAAC team make SU better? I'm not against Gerry at all, the logic of getting players from Siena isn't computing for me

Teams are finding small conference players that are legitimately good every year and building championship contenders around them.

I'm not saying that's the case here but we don't even know if these guys would be coming to Syracuse to be centerpieces vs. role player type roles (with the exception of Doty who I assume will play a significant role if he comes).

Wow. I just can't believe this is where we landed after what Blair told us. If the last two games hadn't gone the way they did, we wouldn't be here. So I'm thrilled that beating Merrimack and losing to Duke by 5 points suddenly made GMac qualified enough to be head coach now. If GMac doesn't coach well at Cuse, the NIL will dry up and not matter. This was a blunder and so disappointing. Just a poor decision with so much riding on this.

That said, I will eventually support GMac as that's what I do with Syracuse. However, I won't have much resillience as a fan. I'll be out quickly if this goes south.

yaaaaa, and that works the other way as well. If we spend 12 million next year and we don't make the tourney no backtracking. I hope I am wrong, i truly do but I highly doubt it. I am not renewing my season tickets, and still will be happy if i am wrong, print this one out.

The difference is that I think and believe BB wanted Schertz and just couldn't get to where Schertz found the job attractive enough to leave St louis. So, in your daughter's theory, the dems said to Shapiro, you want it and he said no. which he did for the #2 spot.

I’d say:
1) They’re not going to be relied on at SU as key players

2) A team of MAAC players, including most at a caliber below what we might be bringing here, were one healthy substitute who could play 5 minutes away from likely beating Duke.

I honestly believe Gmac was always going to be the hc here regardless if he made the tournament or not

3 white and Kings are a good place to start. Kian should still see lots of min if he follows Gmacs intensity on defense.

Gmac is going to get a lot of support. He’s a good coach, a legend at Cuse and as competitive as it gets. If he had this years Cuse roster, how different would it have been. I don’t claim to have an answer to that but I can’t imagine it wouldn’t have been better.
