I’m with you. He may have just overstayed his time at dayton. They expect a lot. He always seems to find great transfers and always coaches well against power conference teams. I could see power conf teams going after him.

If he can’t sustain success at Dayton he’s not doing anything much at SU.

As someone who lived in New Berlin, Johnson City and went to undergrad and grad at Cuse and brags about being from upstate NY while now living in NYC, here is my definition:

That’s funny. My mom’s family is from New Berlin and south town. I grew up in Norwich and was in middle school during the Bobby Lazor state championships.

I'm pretty familiar with Wardle. He's a Midwest guy. No connections elsewhere. Good guy, not sure he has a high ceiling.

St louis up 25 on Dayton….

There is no doubt he will be the best coach on the market that has the combination of everything you are looking for but a lot of things play into getting a coach here. Does he want to be here? Are we the highest bidder? Another job on the market more attractive to him? Does our AD board and big donors (matters in this day an age) like him?

I think we could also discuss which jobs are likely to come open in the coming weeks/months and get an idea of who our competition is going to be, feel free to name schools

It's not easy moving from the South back to the North once you have lived in the South even if you are from the North, so I get it, I've done it. Unless USF becomes the next Gonzaga or they are ACC bound and we don't know it yet, there is really not many jobs in the Southeast at the power conference level that will be open anytime soon. Like last cycle you had Florida State and Miami open. If this is truly his dream job and the wife is convinced he is being set up to be successful at Syracuse, I think the convincing will be successful. When Syracuse Basketball is successful, it really does mean more. This isn't just a job being the Syracuse Men's Basketball coach, you arguably become the most important figure and looked up to figure in all of Central New York. At least that is the standard, Jim Boeheim, has set for this job.
I think USF will be power 4 in a year or two tops, along with Memphis and maybe JMU

I saw a recent interview with Hodgson where he talked about playing and scoring fast. But he also mentioned that he has "over 300" half court sets and most of those are to take advantage of mismatches by isolating defenders. He designs sets based on advance scouting and analytics of the next team on the schedule. He said there are basic sets that can adapted to multiple combinations just by changing a couple of words in the play call. He also uses analytics to set up his players to get the shots they are most efficient at.

ISO offense is not a bad thing when it is run at this level of sophistication.
What a change this would be. We are ridiculously easy to scout. It took 3 games with Donnie back for ACC staffs to adjust. And “effort” hasn’t proven to be much of a defensive strategy.
