Coach Search Options after Autry

You've made several posts talking about losing money in concessions and ticket sales by keeping Red through the remainder of the season. Nice try.

Yes, and I didn't say anything about INCREASING attendance, as you can see in the comment. It is about stopping the bleeding, which anyone that can read would be able to figure out in that. Not once did I ever say anything about INCREASING attendance.

Again, nice try.

Yes…. Maybe I’m naive. SEC schools are going to be shifting more focus to football because of the Big Ten gaining top football conference status. Memphis, c’mon Paulie. Kansas State could be interesting, though it would be unusual for a candidate to be deciding between us two, just seems like very different options. You are looking for a different kind of guy to lead a program like Syracuse. Someone who can handle the pressure, embrace the history and tradition here. If you are in the ball park financially. You can sell that the sky is the limit because it kind of is with the revenue stream a packed Dome can do for you. I mean even last Saturday in a season where everyone is just so fed up, 20,000 people showed up to honor Lawrence Moten. That’s not normal in a good way.
I absolutely hate Paulie. I find I disagree with him 99% of the time.

Read back through the thread, he doesn't want the gig. You're right on Buzz, but if they and GTown are this bad again next year, one of them will open.
Alright, take a deep breath. That’s based on Jeremy Cuse, who is an insider, saying that Schertz is unlikely right now, but even he says anything can change and it’s based on what he’s hearing currently. It’s only Feb 4, nothing is set in stone, and St Louis is in the middle of a great season, and I doubt Schertz is thinking much about next year. Perspectives always change and circumstances change, and with the right connections, Wildhack may have a chance to pitch him on Syracuse and its upside and all we have to offer. Right now it’s all going through an agent, who no doubt has their own agenda and opinions. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.

It’s true that he doesn’t have any interest in coaching here, for whatever reason. I don’t know why.
Did you get this from Trilly, or elsewhere? Because I don’t fully trust Trilly or his sources.

^^^This piggybacking on Jeremy's info share. People need to relax. What Jeremy shared was information as of today. That information is dynamic and will change and morph depending on a ton of things that could happen. There's still plenty of time for things to change directions a few times. Folks need to be patient because information will start coming from all directions soon and one moment what we hear from one source will be accurate to that point and two or three days later something could change. Remember nothing is final until a contract is signed and there's a ways to go until we are at that point. Buckle up...have a drink...relax and let's see how things shake out. Thanks again for early shares from Jeremy and 2023. Also interesting article from NC guy guessing Schertz to Cuse. Lots of twists and turns coming.

The ONLY agenda his agent will have is maximizing his commission and following Schertz's wishes.

Schertz is/will be on the wish list of every P5 program with an opening. He knows this, his agent knows this, and so do the schools. Of course he is thinking about next year. Those back channel negotiations are already happening. Schertz is in the driver's seat. He can afford to wait out those offers and leverage his position while his agent does the heavy lifting. Edited to add - Or, he can grab a "strong a$$ offer" now and concentrate on the rest of his season.

SU will not set the market for head coaching salary. If that is the end game for Schertz - and who could blame him if it is - I find it very unlikely that SU will be a player.

It's been news in paid groups for weeks now, Trilly first and now others here backing it up. That's affiliated and non-affiliated sources saying the same. Sorry if you don't trust his info, but he's most often correct. We have a tendency to ignore the writing on the wall because we don't like the outcome.

George Mason just lost again tonight. I’m not really in favor of Skinn as a candidate.

Their best player - Kory Mincy - hurt his thumb / hand in the first half and took one shot the rest of the game, which was like 28 minutes at that point.

Still took a lead, but uncharacteristic turnovers and sorta weak interior defense (they have some skill but not size) did them in.

I’m all about Schertz and won’t give up on us making a play for him. I’ve wanted him since last season. And Hodgson has always been near the top of my list, even if he’s kind of a meathead. However, there’s some good analysis of other potential names in these rundowns. Takayo Siddle could be a great hire.

Obviously Jerrod Calhoun, Tony Skinn, Travis Steele and John Groce will also be hot names. And I like the offensive maestros like Eric Henderson at Drake (formerly Sourh Dakota State), Chris Gerlufsen at SF (Todd Golden cohort), Alan Huss at Creighton (was head coach at High Point), and the Earl brothers. People also seem very high on Brian Wardle.
