Care to explain? They will be sharing the NIL and Fran rebounded a program that was irrelevant for the last 20 years exactly what is expected from the new hoops coach.I couldn't disagree more. Respectfully.

The Lally comment is interesting because obviously Fran Brown is already trying to squeeze every dollar he can from that family for football. To be honest there’s probably a lot left to squeeze.
We’re not exactly doing ourselves favors though if the Lallys just split what they were giving between both sports. Hard pill for Fran to swallow too that he could’ve had an extra mil or two but it’s going to hoops nil instead.
Either way I think Fran should get a say in the candidates. Honestly he’s prob more plugged in to what’s happening in SEC country and Florida and what college athletes are saying and hearing than anyone on our search committee.
I also think that for the first time ever we’re seeing that a HC has to be a real presence off the court and create buzz just as much as on the court.
I don’t care how great their metrics and playbook is, if they can’t get the money flowing for hoops on the Hill it’s a nonstarter.
Getting a hoops and a football coach that are both on the same page getting the fanbase excited would be huge.
There’s way too strong a narrative out there of “outside the family” for this hire. While it’s preferred, I’d be fine with Gmac he’d fire up the NIL and alums. Imagine how disgusting it would be if he ends up at Boston college …
It’s not a narrative. It’s in the best interest of the program to conduct a national coaching search and hire a proven head coach. There’s about 75 coaches with similar or more than GMac, yet none are ever mentioned. Just because GMac knows where the toilets in the Melo Center are located doesn’t mean he needs to be considered for the job. There’s way too strong a narrative out there of “outside the family” for this hire. Fran has been here for just 2 years, 1 very good, 1 very bad. He could be gone if he has another year like last year. Why should he have any say? I'd rather guys on this board who are SU lifers have a say than Fran.Care to explain? They will be sharing the NIL and Fran rebounded a program that was irrelevant for the last 20 years exactly what is expected from the new hoops coach.
No, but you have to admit it's a pretty darn good tiebreaker.Just because GMac knows where the toilets in the Melo Center are located doesn’t mean he needs to be considered for the job.
Perhaps. But the 75 more important evaluative criteria should filter GMAC down relative to the field. No, but you have to admit it's a pretty darn good tiebreaker.
Of course. I was saying it tongue in cheek.Perhaps. But the 75 more important evaluative criteria should filter GMAC down relative to the field.
My bad!Of course. I was saying it tongue in cheek.

Agree on a real national search but Gmac should be in considerationIt’s not a narrative. It’s in the best interest of the program to conduct a national coaching search and hire a proven head coach. If GMac makes the tourney he might get the BC job and take Fotu with him.Perhaps. But the 75 more important evaluative criteria should filter GMAC down relative to the field.

It Depends….No, but you have to admit it's a pretty darn good tiebreaker.
