Easy to spot that he spent a while with Oats with how he speaks and a rough edge/swagger of sorts he has.

Some interesting notes here as he talks about the program he is building on and the quality of his staff. Clearly he is positioning things as not about him for when he takes a bigger job.

Just get a vibe from him that he'd be a really good guy to turn the program around quickly, but I don't think his style is a long term solution. Which is fine, we need the Wolf, not Marcellus Wallace.

I like the Enis kid they have as someone who would come here with him. He has strong connections to Canadian prospects too, which I know we have said for years is an area we should recruit better given our location.

I was talking about this with someone as well. Our program needs life and needs energy before we worry about winning titles. I think he would be perfect to turn that aspect of the program around...

-Personality, I think his fiery personality will be a nice change to what we have had the last decade for the fan base

-Analytic Approach - This is something we need and listening to his press conference, he seems heavy into it, which would be great for our program that has been lacking in that.

-Offense - Modern fast-paced tempo offense to bring excitement back to the program. Running up and down the court, scoring at a high clip. If he had Syracuse scoring 90 a game, the fan base would go crazy

-Asst Coaches - Hearing that press conference he has a modern approach to his coaching staff. Offensive and Defensive coaches etc.

He seems like a great person to come in and modernize our program quickly and bring excitement back to the court with his fast-paced offense, which will hopefully excite the casual fans and fill up the dome.

At some point, if he can't get us over the hump, we will have to look at a change again but we need to worry about some of those other things first.

Btw this right here is exactly what UConn was looking for when they hired Hurley. The rest is truly the definition of gravy. So Hodgson may not be Hurley, but this is the exact approach you need to take in this hiring process. It’s about reviving the energy and bringing back a consistent pulse. Get more people in the Dome and then take it from there. The rest is more likely to come if you start with focusing on the simple things.

Yeah the Loyola and JMU coaches are definitely no longer on this list, but it's a good start.

As of right now my top 2 coaches who I’d love to get for next season are 1. Josh Schertz and 2. Bryan Hodgson. If they get either one I’d be very happy.

I think that’s about right. I don’t think the game and cbb ecosystem as it stands lends itself to long term coaching options beyond a very small group of programs with a long runway of funding , including annual increases to meet market demands. Thus I could see Hodgson being 5-10 yrs on the job and taking a guaranteed pile of NIL money elsewhere vs having to really grind for it here even if he does turn it around and have a ton of success.

An established and proven winner in GMAC in 5-10 yrs would be a great story and outcome if it played out that way with picking things up after Hodgson moved on.

Loyola Chicago is bottom of the A-10, and JMU is 4-8 on the sun belt with the best resources in the conference. Spradlin has more of a future than

IMO, my number 3 would be Murray over skinn or someone similar. I may look into the UNC Wilmington coach next.

Fair, I’d put Skinn slightly over Murray due to HC experience but I do like Murray’s potential.

I've said all along that Cuse needs to hire an experienced winning coach that can hit the ground running. Then I see the great job that Jai Lucas is doing at Miami and know he was never a head coach before this year. But, I think that's an anomaly. Unless it's Murray from UConn. Could he do the same?
