Coach Search Options after Autry

An assistant bringing money for players with him? Also if he had money behind him why did Iona can him for someone who had money behind them? For me it seemed like Tobin really helped Hodgson develop his defense. South Florida has gotten a lot better defensively down the stretch.
His brother is a real good NIL guy.

I keep clicking but nothing happens. Please advise.

332 were all serious business until we started posting betting odds :-)
Phil, when are you changing your avatar?

Most of you are putting all your eggs in one basket for Hodgson when there’s plenty of other really good options out there
Good take. Here’s where I’m at.

I want options and I want to keep hearing that we are the top job on the market and our NIL and resources are getting a major uptick.

If Schertz or BH are in general just getting higher tier program interest than Hop and Gmac then that tells me something.

If someone better pops then I’m all for it.

First time I'm posting in any new head coach threads... my take is that I feel so burned from the last few years of Boeheim and the 3 year Autry experience, that I want the best coach available, which means getting a dude outside. Pretty obvious that if GMac wasn't a legend at Syracuse, he wouldn't be considered for a second. So why would we be doing that now, at a juncture so critical for our program. A bad hire now would be incredibly detrimental to our program. I would love to entertain a GMac hire down the road, just not now!

I’m starting to think Hodgson isn’t the done deal it seemed like it was awhile ago. With the Blair thing completely surprising people from what a lot of people thought was surely happening. I have a feeling this hire is going to be somewhat of surprise. Or it’s gmac and we start this process again in 5 years because he’ll at least do a little better than Red.

Adding to it. Hardly anybody spoke about Gerry as a serious candidate prior to him winning the MAAC. This would feel like such a rushed hire to me

When this thread was in the 200s the narrative was that Gerry wouldn’t even consider this job and was concerned about the NIL.

I’m choosing to believe the insiders and the process that led us to a seemingly awesome AD hire will net us BH like we’ve been hoping for

BH was 8-5 in indy games this year. We can always find stats we either like or don't like. I'm not in favor of Gerry but as I said in another post, I'm sick of people making it seem like he didn't do really well at Siena this year. He took over a team that won 4 games just two years ago. They won their league title Tuesday night. It isn't his time for a job like this but let's cool it with stats that we don't like.
Who said he didn't do well? He had a good year. He didn't have a dominant year. Hodgson and Schertz were both 15-3 in their conference-That is more dominant in better conferences. That's putting aside their previous successes. Doesn't mean G-Mac won't dominate the MAAC next year.

From what im hearing, you can choose to believe me or not, Hodgson is heading to Providence. Jerrod Calhoun has struck down the Kansas State job and might be waiting for the Cinci/Pitt job to open up. Schertz feels like he doesn’t need to jump this cycle as STL has the NIL and enough money for his salary to compete at a high level like they’ve done this year. To me, it’s Gerry McNamara and possibly Shaheen Holloway for our job opening.

yeah, I don't believe you. Face it, the P.C. job doesn't compare to the Syracuse job in any manner. None. And I like P.C. Living in New England, I would go to Providence, get a great Italian dinner, watch us win (we always did) and come home. There isn't a reason in the world that BH would choose P.C. over Syracuse. I will be fair to you. Name a couple of reasons someone would choose P.C. over Syracuse? P.C. couldn't even keep Cooley.

??? a few hours ago in the thread that showed betting odds for the next pc coach, you said you wouldn't put much stock into the odds which had hodgson as the favorite. now you say he's going to providence.

Yeah as someone whose boss is a PC grad who is also a donor you can toss out the BH to PC idea.

I agree. Wasn't the story at Iona that Tobins replacement had his mom and Dad ready to be the program NIL stalwarts? What cash does Anderson have?

The guys on Field of 68 have been claiming BH to Providence is very likely, because (according to them) PC has a lot more NIL than Syracuse. However - they seem to have endless H0T Takes in the hopes a few turn out to be true. They also think us just hiring an AD means our search just started…I think they may just be making stuff up.

Well we found the Providence troll. Where’s FriarJ these days?
