Coach Search Options after Autry

The guys on Field of 68 have been claiming BH to Providence is very likely, because (according to them) PC has a lot more NIL than Syracuse. However - they seem to have endless H0T Takes in the hopes a few turn out to be true. They also think us just hiring an AD means our search just started…I think they may just be making stuff up.
They also had Hodgson to Cuse two weeks ago. Goodman is creating content as he goes these days.

yeah, I don't believe you. Face it, the P.C. job doesn't compare to the Syracuse job in any manner. None. And I like P.C. Living in New England, I would go to Providence, get a great Italian dinner, watch us win (we always did) and come home. There isn't a reason in the world that BH would choose P.C. over Syracuse. I will be fair to you. Name a couple of reasons someone would choose P.C. over Syracuse? P.C. couldn't even keep Cooley.
Unless something changes the added nil they have makes that job a lot more appealing. Crazy to think that but that’s the current state of the program unfortunately.

From what im hearing, you can choose to believe me or not, Hodgson is heading to Providence. Jerrod Calhoun has struck down the Kansas State job and might be waiting for the Cinci/Pitt job to open up. Schertz feels like he doesn’t need to jump this cycle as STL has the NIL and enough money for his salary to compete at a high level like they’ve done this year. To me, it’s Gerry McNamara and possibly Shaheen Holloway for our job opening.
Interestingly enough this is only your 2nd comment ever here and you are following Dasher only for some reason.

You might want to bring some receipts for your 3rd comment.

BH was 8-5 in indy games this year. We can always find stats we either like or don't like. I'm not in favor of Gerry but as I said in another post, I'm sick of people making it seem like he didn't do really well at Siena this year. He took over a team that won 4 games just two years ago. They won their league title Tuesday night. It isn't his time for a job like this but let's cool it with stats that we don't like.
I think it’s really about Hodgson having a strong modern offensive philosophy, with a super fast pace rooted in analytics and NBA concepts of favoring 3-pointers and shots at the rim. He has a proven track record as both an assistant under Oats helping him build programs at Buffalo and Alabama and then as a head coach himself. Gmac was part of the JB decline. Plus Hodge is a bulldog recruiter and has proven that he can get top talent. Gmac doesn’t have any of that.

From my understanding, PC is working up an NIL collective to be in the 10-12 million range. Cuse from what I know plans on sitting in the middle of the ACC again which would put them at around the 8-10 range. That alone is enough, but I also heard that they want a personality that can stand up to the likes of Hurley and Pitino, someone who’s willing to combat them. BH is just that type of person. They are placing a ton of faith in him and it certainly seems like Syracuse isn’t serious about him, or at least not as serious as they are about Gerry. He’s picked up a lot of steam for the win against Joe Gallo and Merrimack.

There’s no way we can’t raise more NIL funds in the offseason than PC. We just need to hire an exciting new coach in BH that will unleash the donors who’ve been reluctant to give to Red.

12 million dollars in NIL, diehard fanbase

So a school with 3000 students and a tiny alumni base (PC) is somehow outraising a school with 16,000 undergrads and a much bigger alumni base. Yes, both have strong local fan bases but I would argue ours is much bigger and stronger.

It will likely take about $10 million total for the roster budget and a much more competitive investment for assistants and staff to get Hodgson.

It’s very doable, and if they are serious about winning, they will get it done.
They need to put out an ask to the middle of the pack donors that we need to step up to land the best coach on the market.

No one is saying we are more invested/serious in Gerry during the search than Hodgson and others.
