Not suggesting he should be the hire but am agreeing that the casual fans very much would love to see Gerry be the coach. (And would also turn on him if he didn't win, too.) Lot of alum and casual friend texts about "Time to bring Gerry home!" the past week. Even my wife is on the Gerry train.

Too bad 90% of the casuals don't watch college basketball outside of Syracuse and have no clue what it takes to win at the P4 level. They just want to feel good and remember the old days.

I can care less what USF and Providence thinks. This is a dark moment for Syracuse if it's true.To lose out on your top target who was a fan of the program and viewed Syracuse as a dream job.

Also it makes no sense that he would "turn down" another job two nights before he's in the NCAA tournament. Turning down another job would remove all leverage he has in asking for more money at USF or another job. Very odd thing to "report."

Several people is section 123 said they would not renew next year if they hire another SU assistant. They are completely fed up. It was embarrassing how many empty seats there were in the best seats in the house. This is a complete failure on the University. It’s also very telling when we can’t out do Providence and South Florida.

If like Goodman says it is between Providence and USF what is the point of telling Goodman we are out when he could still use us as leverage if that was his actual decision? Doesn't pass the smell test not saying he is wrong just timing doesn't make sense if Hodgson still hasnt made a decision.
