NIL is a collective effort as, at most schools, there is no billionaire alum to fund NIL. So you need boosters, local and national businesses to help fund NIL. It takes a big effort from the athletic department to organize and implement an NIL program for the athletes. I live in the Boston area and we have UConn basketball players doing ads for Jordan's Furniture on TV. I don't think there is any connection between the school and Jordan's, but Jordan's must think they can help them sell furniture.

They wouldn't, not by choice. If you're negotiating you want two legitimate options. He had two, now he ostensibly has one--that is a weaker hand.

That said, plenty of possible situations where there aren't negotiations anymore, for example:

• He already took the Providence job
• We already hired someone else
• Someone got angry/walked out
• Someone had unrealistic expectations and wouldn't budge

What also kinda makes me a little mad during this whole thing, this agent and these media people are acting like this guy is John Wooden. He’s never been a P4 coach, has been a HC for 3 years and now all of a sudden they are talking about him like he’s the best coach in America. Is he the best option right now on paper ? Sure. You know who else was the best option on paper at PG - Nate George. This is out of hand

Totally agree. Kyler Murray comes to mind when they were all like 'omg what if he plays baseball.' Dude is legit but he was never going to be a goat. His achievement was, basically, 'better than Dan Jones'.
