I think that was their plan (in terms of not hiring hop, gmac). They would not have fired everyone like they did and Autry, Kline, and crew would not have gone out so hot. This is why I’m stressing that this negative perception because of how this was handled is so damaging.

Well, if the Lally's didn't back Hodgson to have better resources than Providence, then it seems like if Carmelo is going to have to do the heavy lifting on NIL, and if it's his money, he wants his guy (and probably his name back on his building ...). This sucks.

Hop or Gmac would also go against Wildhack’s statement that we were one of the best basketball jobs in the country and would hire the best coach to match those expectations. You don’t put out that statement and then hire…Mike Hopkins.

I don't get the hate...the average schlub posting here donates about $200 a year to SU. I'm more pissed there is drama among the big NIL donors and not at one particular donor. SU leadership needs to earn their money and right this ship.
