Why on earth would an agent pull leverage before USF plays?

Unless BH, Providence, USF etc all know we’re not even close on the NIL number, which I don’t think is the case.

Im calling bs. Zero inside info. This just doesn’t pass the smell test when wrapping your head around the deal making process.

They were not going to overpay him personally coming from where he comes from. I firmly we will beat Providence NIL unequivocally. We offered and told him what we would pay, He declined and made it look favorable for him. This was not NIL it was salary and his agent was classless. I guess him as well. Then he uses a media tool to spin. Just give it a couple days. I hope Gerry is the pick, Happy St Patrick's Day

What annoys me the most about this whole debacle is that if SU had fired Autry last year, like so many were advocating for, we could have easily landed BH as the coach.

This hire will now dictate the entire future of Syracuse basketball. They’ve fumbled the ball so many times I have little faith they will get it right. The consistent pattern of doing everything wrong is hard to overcome. I was hoping the new chancellor and ADBB would take a new approach, but so far it appears they are off to a shaky start.

If it’s Hop or GMac they’ve sealed their fate and shown they are not willing to position Syracuse for success in the future.

I’m saying I know how clear he made it for them and what they needed to do. A few others can confirm that on here regarding his request. They clearly didn’t honor that if this is true. But also Cuse2023 may know more.

Certainly, and why would he not take literally the same salary at USF, and upper level NIL For that conference. Structural clauses in the contract as it relates to buyout very probably low, Seeeeee Yaaaaaa, It was salary not NIL

That is spin on our part not Hodgson part. From what has been said so far we didn't meet Hodgson demands and weren't so that is why we moved on. Not by choice but the fact we couldn't meet his request.

If I had a nickel for every time an ad recently left Syracuse after getting hired in the last 10 years I’d (possibly) have 2 nickels. It’s not a lot of money but it’s weird that it might happen twice.

It is a huge assumption we all made that his life dream was to be in CNY. Maybe at one time but with a new southern wifey and baby things change. He may be pulling a Schertz and just saying I can stay here and be comfortable another year getting a big salary bump from USF. Who knows maybe he thinks he’s got the chops for the SEC in a year or two.

Is there though? I don't think "enough" exists, it's just a question of what you've got. The school is committing the full $20M, real salaries for coaches, and we've got NIL on top. We had enough talent this year to make the tourney with whomever the best high school coach is in the state, and outside of an ankle injury the football team had enough talent to make a bowl.

I'm sure other ACC schools are in better shape there but I feel like NIL is just a distraction from "our leaders can't get our @#$# on the same page."
