Is there though? I don't think "enough" exists, it's just a question of what you've got. The school is committing the full $20M, real salaries for coaches, and we've got NIL on top. We had enough talent this year to make the tourney with whomever the best high school coach is in the state, and outside of an ankle injury the football team had enough talent to make a bowl.

I'm sure other ACC schools are in better shape there but I feel like NIL is just a distraction from "our leaders can't get our @#$# on the same page."

I don’t know what to tell you. Multiple people here are saying, repeatedly, that hoops got an NIL boost this year that is now gone. And that we *have* to bend the knee to Carmelo’s money tied to an awful coach because we so poor.

Meanwhile there are people suggesting Fran’s talking about bailing because of the funding dysfunction.

Well we got rid of Kent and dodged Lyke and got BB. That’s just in the last week.

Personally I want to see what BB does. We don’t have a coach yet so we’ll see.

We know we might’ve swung and missed but also but we’re not sure.

I will say this with confidence. If you are the person that is happy with the situation you do not leak to the hacks you leaked the story to in an attempt to spin the story your way. And whoever does BH’s PR god bless them cuz they played it well cuz he looked great and we looked like jerkoffs.

Call it coping or spin from me but if he was happy with his decision not to go any further with Syracuse how is there anything to leak and why on a random Tuesday. Sure there’s noise for his team at the tourney that he doesn’t want or maybe this was part of the play to get USF to write a big check but something still doesn’t add up.

Something is awry and feels like we have a new contender ready to enter the fray much like BB did.

Wouldn’t surprise me if we hear that Toledo’s head coach is an option… from my understanding he’s been looking to move up for years now and hasn’t gotten the proper looks. Hes a good coach, but has never gotten over the hump in the MAC tourney. Something to keep an eye on with BBlair

Had similar thoughts but just kinda assumed we'd go in a younger direction but he's not much older than Hopkins lol.

Has undeniably had success at Toledo, but like you said, never been to the tournament. Toledo hasn't made it since 1980!

Maybe it's already been said but if BH turned us down over money - be it salary or promised NIL (after, as has been reported, we met his ask but then his agent raised it), I believe he probably wouldn't have stayed here very long anyway. Just until he got a better offer from another school.

Btw Hodgson did not get the job, he DID NOT turn it down. I have this from one of the most legit and reputable sources in the game. Not sure if it’s Gerry or someone else, but this is the agent spinning it that he turned it down.

have not gotten close to the end of messages... but does this mean SU said sorry, but you have gone to the well one too many times and we are not going to meet your total $$$ request. That would still seem to fit the narrative that SU is not competing at the $$$ level, but also say that SU rejected Hodgson.
