I will have to say, maybe leaking Hodgson being out was a good play by Syracuse because I find myself now getting excited with just about with any name that comes up other than Hop or GMac.

That's what is so depressing for me. I was so excited for new blood. I just can't understand going from Autry to GMAC or Hop. Might as well pull a VT football and rehire Autry as AHC.

-#1 Job on the market
-Get Syracuse back to elite athletics
-Hire a proven winner with a great track record
-National Search to get best candidate

I'm going on record and have been saying from the beginning there's no way they're hiring Hop as HC. Even the casual fans would be annoyed.

He's had one good year at the lowest level of Division 1 coaching.
That's like giving a 12 year old a new car.
They might turn out to be a great driver, but honestly, it's too soon to know.

That's fair but that's actually how racing drivers start; they are in karts until the tweens and teens and by 14 or so are expected to be winning pro-am races in real sports cars. Full-pro teams take bets on them in junior series because once they're a known quantity everyone wants them.

I'm not saying I want GMac as coach--I don't--but the silver lining is that *if* he does turn out, grabbing him early would be a genius move roughly equivalent to how we grabbed Boeheim early. So while I'd be uncomfortable with the bet there's enough upside I wouldn't balk either.

Why would Murray take SU job. He makes a million dollar a year to be the top assistant of a top tier (vomit) program? What would attract him to Syracuse specifically? Whenever he choses to leave UConn he will at the top of the list for a number of programs. Please tell me why Syracsue.

Because Syracuse lacks funds and last I checked, Murray has some kind of big personal connection to a person that is super wealthy and has some influence. Murray also runs their offense, which is important in modern basketball. UConn can keep Young.

I brought Young up a week ago. He is their guard and defensive coach. Platers lover him and he has a track record of developing guards and getting them drafted.
