I will tell you one thing that scares me about Gerry. Who will he get as a G.M.? We need to be ready for the portal right from the jump. And Playing in the league he has< doubt he knows who is who that we should get. Same would have been true for BH. But I liked his guard more than I like Doty

If ADBB doesn't hire GMac it'll be because he has to assert he's independent from our past. Chancellor-Elect Haynie has to step in and make the decision that it's going to be GMac. And it would be wonderful if Adrian Autry calls GMac and encourages him to take the job.

Siena was a 28 point underdog given literally no chance to win by anybody.
You can talk about poor second halves all you want but they lost by 6 to the number one team in the country. And led up to the final few minutes.
That only happens with good coaching and players who buy into what he wants.

I get it that many on this board are frankly horrified about hiring another JAB assistant.
It is like they are diseased and they fear they will infect Syracuse and destroy our team.
I doubt few would feel this way if Red had just been a decent coach and not this coaching disaster.
So, to them, they dont want to believe their eyes that maybe there is a decent JAB assistant out there who can coach.

They just want an outsider to exorcise the demon ghost of JAB.

I dont give a flying flip what offense our new coach runs, I just want us to win.
And certainly not have a coach who gives up before the ball is even tossed!

I was willing to accept BH but he didnt want us so good riddance.

And I want someone who has had some success as a head coach, no assistants for me.

The issue IS NOT hiring Syracuse guy. The issue IS hiring a guy with two years as a head coach in one of the worst leagues in college basketball, solely and only because he is a Syracuse guy. There is 0% chance we’d look at him if he was named John Smith.

I’d prefer that we hire the best candidate. It might be that he is. That is very, very not good.
