I will say this: watching the Duke game on Thursday, it was cool seeing Gerry on TV, getting talked about favorably. He looks young and was intense. It was easy to root for him, and not just because he was playing Duke. Because he's #3 -- Gerry Freaking McNamara.

Doesn't mean he is ready, or that he is who we need to turn the Titanic around -- but I started feeling like, "...maybe this could work..."

If nothing else, he'll have fanbase goodwill, at least initially. But I fear it won't last if the team doesn't get off to a hot start. Like, a REALLY hot start.

If we end up being a team that consistently loses 12+ games, like we have for the last 10 years, then I think a lot of the goodwill will quickly evaporate.

Hoopers come from everywhere. Doty proved last week he can ball against the best on the biggest stage. Not sure about Moesch but the school that just got Hodgson wanted him. They’ll both be role players at minimum if they go to cuse, but not the only guys

That's fair, minus the word "deserves." I can see why he is getting a chance.

"Deserves" sounds like cronyism, which I'm sure this isn't.
