My take on GMac, is that he showed he’s adaptable this year. I’ve seen the offensive sets they ran. And he should a great ability to understand what his team needed in the offseason, found the right players, and adjusted his game plan as injuries and the suspension happened.

Obviously I could be wrong, but in my basketball opinion, GMac showed great coaching instincts to me, which is why I believe he will be successful. All good if others feel different. Just my take.

Say what u want but a vast majority of experts, pundits and fans think he is a much better coach than Gerry. I agree with them.

Because he has more experience and has done it at 2 different schools. That is the only evidence for it.

Few of you have been grossly overrating him (not saying it’s you) as the next Greg Popovich and I think it’s kind of laughable.

Here is something for literally everyone angry about us hiring Gerry.

He hates losing more than anyone on this board. He will say the right things about his former colleagues Red and his appreciation of JB. He has massive belief in himself.

Here’s the kicker- if it were Gerry on this forum arguing with us where he’s just a fan- he would be more hellbent than any of you about hiring someone besides an in family hire. He is not Hop or someone who is going to copycat the past even if he is part of that past for life. He would out skeptic every single one of you angry about this. When dasher says he didn’t want the job or might not take it - that’s all part of what I’m getting at here. It’s a different personality and coach than what you think.

So yeah we need a lot of support and NIL but this isn’t Red taking a job he was appointed to and operating without a vision and complacency.

I will admit I wasn’t impressed by his zone offense so hopefully he cleans it up
