I think that means hanging on or touching the rim somehow. That would be crazy to disallow a basket because you used to rim to screen out an attempted block.

Hanging on the rim can be OK if you're doing it to keep from landing on someone, "safety reasons". As listed the rule is pretty vague. I would hope that they'll explain it to the refs and coaches before the season starts.

So did I read that correctly that continuation is now a college thing? Thats a massive rule change if so. I hated it in nba when it first came about but actually agree with it now as the move to shoot is after dribble is picked up instead of “foul on the floor”

I don't have much of a problem if it's really a shot. Too often they just heave the ball at the rim to "be in the act of shooting" as soon as there's contact and the refs fall for it.
